Rosa chinensis var. minima is a woody perennial rosaceous plant which has small and compact flower, long flowering period and strong cold tolerant characters . As one of the mini-flower resources, it could be used as pot flower, ground cover plant and cut flower. At present, its application in pot flower and ground cover plant showed great market prospect.Effects of different media, different concentrations of IBA on the cutting propagation were examined in this study. Seven different media were used:(1)peat moss,(2)perlite,(3)perlite : peat moss =2 : 1,(4)perlite :peat moss =3 :1,(5)peat moss:perlite=3:1,(6)peat moss:perlite =2:1, (7)peat moss:perlite =1:1. At the same time, five different concentrations of IBA were used ( 0ppm(CK),200 ppm,400 ppm,600ppm and 800ppm). The results demonstrated that :(1) Fresh weight of leaves, dry weight of leaves, fresh weight of root, dry weight of root, number of root, length of root, fresh weight of chlorophyll and root activity all showed significant difference among the 7 soilless media. The combination of peat moss:perlite =2:1 (v:v) was the most suitable medium for cutting propagation of Rosa chinensis var. minima. The physical and chemical properties of the medium are: specific graviy 1.81 g/cm3, volume weight 0.16 g/cm3, total interspace 91.16%, content of water 102g/kg, PH5.87, conductivity 466 cs / cm. Next one is peat moss:perlite=3:1(v:v) .The effects of rest media were not suitable for cutting propagation of the variety; (2) Fresh weight of leaves, dry weight of leaves, fresh weight of root, dry weight of root, number of root, length of root, fresh weight of chlorophyll and root activity showed significant difference among different IBA treatments. The 600ppm IBA was the most suitable concentration for cutting propagation of Rosa chinensis var. minimaEffects of temperature stress on morphological and physiological characters were studied in Rosa chinensis var. minima in order to select the best cultivars of good adaptability and high ornamental characteristics and suitable for planting in Shanghai. We simulated the high temperature and the low temperature according to the climate in Shanghai. Heat-resistant and cold-resistant were studied in order to study adaptability of Rosa chinensis var. minima to temperature. Three different temperatures (25℃(CK),30℃and 40℃) were designed in heat-resistant experiments, four different temperatures(20℃(CK),5℃,0℃and-10℃) were designed in cold-resistant experiments. The physiological parameters such as water content, relative electrical conductivity, MDA content, proline content, soluble carbohydrate content, activity of SOD enzyme and transpiration rate were screened and field morphological characters were examined. The results showed that the cultivar NO.200601 had the best adaptability to high temperature and low temperature.
