By taking four typical dominant garden plant communities in Karamay downtown as the object, the aim is to build up the water saving system of green spaces and improve utilization efficiency of water resource. We focuse on soil moisture,transpiration rate, photosynthetic rate and blowhole leads rate. Based on these results, the author makes a water consumption comparison among the different green spaces, defines water required quantity for green land and establishes a standard for the grade-management of the green space irrigation. Finally, we draw a quantity irragation system for four typical plants of green spaces in Karamay.The main results obtained in this research are as following:(1)we established the standard of the green space irrigation grade-management. The grade of landscape gardening maintenances are as following: special grade: soil water-storage capacity~79%±2% soil water-storage capacity; grade 1: 66%±2% soil water-storage capacity~79%±2% soil water-storage capacity.(2) After analyzing soil dynamic moisture content change, it shows that the regulationof soil moisture is from wet to dry, furthermore wet period is before than dry period. This regulation reduces the effect of dry soil combining dry atmosphere, lessening the dry harm to plant. It has an important significance for the growing of plant in the dry city.(3) In the four typical plants of green space, the water consumption quantity of arbor woods is fewer than the high density green fence, the block green land of shrub and the lawn.(4) A water irrigation saving system for four typical plants of green space is established. According to different water supply and different month, the irrigation date, the amount of water quantity and irrigation times is given.In this paper, it is the first time to combine the water consumption with the water irrigation saving system for green spaces in garden and plant collocation. The highlights of this thesis lie in the selection of research object, research system and integrating theory with practice. It is also the first time to draw an irrigation system of green space in garden for the city of dry area in northwest region. The irrigation system for green spaces according to the water consumption regulation and the characteristic of precipitation in Karamay green space has broken the traditional extensive management for the irrigation of green spaces, which will be wildly applied in the future.
