Green space is covered by green plants which is an open space, it is a city mediator holds the natural landscape, or the natural landscape is restored, it is an important role of urban space.In the process of urban construction, the number and distribution of the urban green space is an important factor of urban environmental quality. In zhalantun in Inner Mongolia as the research object, this paper will make a investigation and analysis about the present situation of the green space.The article by the methods of literature review, field survey method, the number of research methods such as survey the built in zhalantun area a total of 15 the present situation of the green space.Research content including zhalantun green space types, green space index, statistics of all kinds of green space in the plant species, quantity, configuration mode and create landscape effect and so on, puts forward the problems existing in zhalantun green space construction, and put forward the optimization on the basis of the advice, hoping to zhalantun green space construction to provide the reference in the future.Main results:1、Zhalantun green space types:park green space, the accessory greenbelt, protective green space.2、Zhalantun urban green space with a total area of 438.19 hectares, The rate of 35.57%, green coverage rate of 37.4%.Green land area of 111.17 hectares, the park green coverage rate nearly 70%, the per capita park green land area of 8.1 m2.attached green land area of 208.32 hectares, of which the road green land area of 14.72 hectares, greening coverage area of 18.46 hectares. Residential green land area of 56.3 hectares, the rate of 9.5,the per capita public green space is 4.1 m2. Coverage nearly protective green land area of 94.73 hectares, protective green space per capita is 6.9 m2.3、Zhalantun all kinds of green land survey results:(1) The park green space:a total of 97 kinds of plant species, plant configuration mode in the majority with Joe++grass after filling layer structure, and rich landscape level.(2) Affiliated green space:①road green space. A total of 36 species, plant configuration mode in the majority with Joe+irrigation+grass stratified structure, and green space form a single, monotonous landscape.(3) Protective green space:ltogether 7 plant species, plant configuration mode in the majority with Joe+grass structure, the status quo.Through the investigation and analysis, zhalantun greenbelt status:(1) The city all kinds of green space gap is imbalance (2) The park green space greening structure relatively drab (3) Single affiliated green space landscape, residential area rate is low (4) Thoughtless plant selection, maintenance and poor management.Based on the above situation, and puts forward Suggestions on the optimization of the:(1) Reasonable planning of all kinds of green space, appear even distribution pattern (2) Using different forms of increase the amount of green, vigorously promote the three-dimensional greening (3) Increase the use of conifers, strengthen the maintenance and management of green space (4) Pay attention to cultural characteristics, build local characteristic landscape.
