Study On Social Cognition And Policy Choice To Genetically Modified Crops

With rapid development of genetically modified crops industry,the close attention from entire community to genetically modified crops is raising daily. Knowing about every main part in our society's cognitional situation of genetically modified crops can speed up the industrialization process of genetically modified technique effectively,and it also has realistic meaning to improve competitive edge of our produce,to resolve the lacking problem of agricultural resource,to promote people's living level.After investigating and studying the present cognitional situation to genetically modified crops of consumers,famers,enterprises,scientific establishments and government in Jilin province,the author obtained the first-hand information about social cognition to genetically modified crops of Jilin province. On the foundation of effective questionnaire analyzing,the author arrived at the influencing factors about social cognition of genetically modified crops in Jilin province.The article applied the DEMATEL(Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory)method to differentiate the primary influencing factors,and drew the conclusion:the primary influencing factors which block social cognition of genetically modified crops in Jilin Province and the logical relationship between them:Development level of genetically modified technique→Influence level to environment→Influence level to health→Perfection level of administration policy→Input capability to emerging industry→R & D capabilities of scientific institutions→Transforming level from achievement to merchandise→Price of genetically modified crops.Analyzed the main conclusion and arrive at six measures of developing genetically modified crops industry of our country.With fundamental realities of our country at the present stage,using AHP,author obtained policy choice of GMC's development:Adopt active policies to promote the rapid development of genetically modified crops industry.Concrete advices are:Increase the input to accelerate the development of genetically modified technique;enlarge the market of genetically modified products and promote the development of industry;promote the merchandise conversion process of genetically modified technique achievements;reinforce the publicizing of GMC;perfect the statutes and complete the safety system;raise the masses' cognitional level to GMC.The main research content of this article are as follows:1.Introduced the research background of social cognition to GMC,the author elaborated the research object and the significance about social cognition of GMC. Then author outlined the essential method and the technical route in which this article studies.2.Presented the definitions that are relevant to genetically modified crops, with which and object of study I redefined meaning of genetically modified crops. Contacting text's research,author established the theoretic foundation for follow-up works of this research by using social cognition theory,biotechnology economics, ecological economics and the theory of sustainable development.3.With relevant theories of biotechnology economics,expound potential benefit and risk of genetically modified crops from two aspects:influences to human's health and environment.4.The author designed the questionnaire and did questionnaire survey about social cognition of GMC in Jilin province.Analyzed the results of investigation, the author found out 20 factors influences the cognition of five subjects which included consumers,famers,enterprises,scientific establishments and government.5.Took the investigated data as the foundation,and took the DEMATEL analytical method as the tool,the author carried on the analysis to the 20 influencing factors about the social cognition of GMC,then calculated the influencing degree of each influencing factor by Matlab software. 6.After analyzing the main factors that influence social cognition of GMC, ascertained measures to develop genetically modified crops reasonable.Using AHP as the tool,analyzed effective measures to develop GMC,to provide foundations for government's policy choice of GMC.
