In this experiment , ferrous sulfate , sodium hydroxide , gastric tumors and micro-organisms (yeasts, lactobacillus) were used to detoxify the cottonseed cake, cottonseed meal, cottonseed hull respectively, as well as urea was used to detoxify the cotton stalks.and select out a a useful, economic,easy to be utilized detoxification method amongthem(trial one). Five Alitai sheep with average live weight of 45kg were selected and fitted with permanent ruminal and duodenum fistulae for the assess of the change of free gossypol in the digestive tract and its elimination of sheep. Sheep were feed with cotton seed hull (FG content of 1155 mg / kg) 0 g , 433 g, 696 g, 957 g, 1212g of the diet and the FG content of which were 0 mg, 500mg, 800 mg, 1100 mg, 1400 mg, respectively. collected the rumen liquid, duodenal chyme, feces and urine of sheep in each period and determine FG content of them(trial two). Selected 10 healthy,male Alitai Sheep with average body weight of 45 kg ,among which five sheep were control sheep and never feed any cotton seed hull, rest of each sheep were feeded with one kg cotton seed hull per day, After feeding 60 days,they were slaughtered and determined the FGcontent of their muscles and internal organs to make an initial study on the in vivo metabolism and distribution situation of FG in sheep.Trailâ… : (1) Detoxification rate of ferrous sulfate for cottonseed meal, cottonseed cake and Cottonseed hull were 82.08%, 76.41% and 89.02% respectively.(2) Detoxification rates of 1%, 1.5%, 2% and 2.5% sodium hydroxide for the three cotton by-products, Among which the difference of the ditoxification rates of 1%, 1.5% and 2%, 2.5% for Cottonseed Meal and Cottonseed Cake were significant(P <0.05), while the difference of ditoxfication rates between 1% and 1.5%, 2% and 2.5% were not significant (P> 0.05).the ditoxification rates of all sodium hydroxide concentration for Cottonseed Hull were not significant (P> 0.05 ). (3) Using 100ml rument liquid dealed for one day, detoxification rates for three cotto-by products were 40.23%, 53.28% and 47.94% respectively.(4)detoxfication rates of yeast for the three cotton-by products were 46.99%, 51.42% and 76.46% respectively; the detoxfication rates of lactic acid bacteria for the three cotton-by products were 43.13%, 48.38% and 68.44% respectively.(5)Using 4%, 6% and 8% concentration of urea to deal with the cotton stalks,among which the ditoxification rate of 8% (dealing for 20 days) was 59.73% which was better than the other concentration. According to the effects of detoxification, the detoxification effeciency of 1% sodium hydroxide and ferrous sulfate for cottonseed meal and cottonseed cake were significantly better than the other detoxification methods; the detoxification effeciency of ferrous sulfate and yeast for cotton seed hull were higher than sodium hydroxide, lactic acid bacteria and gastric tumor.Considering the economic benefits and easy tobe promoted, using 1% sodium hydroxide to detoxify the three cotton-by products were quite suitable method.Trailâ…¡: (1) as the increasing of the FG content in the diet, the amount of sheep urine decreased significantly. Compared to 0mg, 500mg, 800mg, 1100mg adding FG group, the amount of sheep urine of 1400 mg group was decreased by 47%, 42.36%, 28.08%, 29.55%, respectively,;(2) FG can not be eliminated via feace, and the gossypol excreted with feace might be binding state rather than free state; (3) the amount of FG in the diet didn't effect the amount of FG excreted with urine, and there was no significant difference between each adding FG group (P <0.05). The time of feedingFG had a certain effets on the amount of FG exceret with urine.The amount of FG excereted with urine began to increase from the third trail(40- 53 d); (4) as increasing the amount of FG in the diet , the amount of FG in the rumen increased, and there was no significant difference between each group (P <0.05).As the extent of feeding FG time, the amount of FG in rumen gradually increased, in the fifth trail period, the amount of FG in rumen was significantly higher than any other period (P> 0.05). (5)the amount of free gossypol in the duodenum increased as the increasing of FG content in dait and the extent of feeding FG time.There was a significant difference between fifth trail period(P<0.05),and there was no significant difference between the first,second, and third group(P>0.05).Trailâ…¢: there was a certain amount of free gossypol accumulated in tissues, among which the accumulation of FG in the liver was the highiest (125.01 mg / kg),but in the muscle tissues was the lowest (16.92 mg / kg),and the diference between them was 108.09 mg / kg. And the results showed that the accumulation amount of FG in muscle tissues is so little that can betheoretically be ignored. The accumulation amount of FG in sheep tissues form larrgest to little turn as followes: liver, spleen, kidney and muscle.
