In order to realize the infected situations and epidemic characters of brucellosis of cows and sheep in China,2396 bovine samples and 2282 ovine sera from eight provinces were examined by six methods, such as Rose Bengal Plane Test (RBT), Standard Tube Agglutination Test (SAT), Milk Ring Test (MRT), Indirect Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (iELISA), Competitive Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (cELISA) and Milk Indirect Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (iELISA). The results indicated that the Brucellosis was prevalence in the 8 province, in different degree. The average positive rate of serum was 3.20%; for milk, the positive rate was 14.23%.We did the serologic detection of the cow that had the symptom of Brucellosis, such as abortion, premature delivery, ect. We examined 600 cows that were bred in different dairy and districts by method of serologic detection, and cultured 120 milk samples for isolation bacterium, we got 17 strains of Brucella. Which were identified by staining and PCR. The results showed that 17 strains isolation were B. abortus. In order to find out the method which have good sensitivity and specificity, four serological methods were compared. The results to detect of 107 cows showed that cELISA had higher sensitivity and specificity than SAT; IELISA had the same sensitivity with RBT, but it had higher specificity. RBT and SAT could be instead by iELISA and cELISA in large-scale quarantine.
