In this thesis,Ilex szechwanensis,Ilex triflora,Photinia davidsoniae,Photinia glabra, Manglietia moto,Michelia skinneriana,Camellia gigontocarpa,Tutcheria microcarpa, Daphniphyllum macropodum and Daphniphyllum oldhami were selected as research materials, Sowing Quality, seed germination characteristics, seedling biomass and height growth rhythm of 10 native trees were studied, and annual height increment of seedlings were conducted by means of Logistic equation. The main results were as follows:1.There was significant difference in thousand-seed weight among 10 species. The highest thousand-seed weight was observed in Tutcheria microcarpa, reaching 150.0g;the lowest occurred in Photinia glabra, only 5.0g.Based on the thousand-seed weight, reasonable seed-quantity could be determinated.2.There was significant difference in seed germination characteristics among the species. The shortest duration of sprouting was measured in Photinia davidsoniae, all for 30 days;the longest was in Ilex triflora, spending 88 days.Measures were taken to control seedbed temperature and humidity for promotes germination by seed germination characteristics.3.Logistic equation could best describe the annual growth rhythm in seedling height of all species(Pr<0.001).There was significant difference in fast-growing time and growth inflection point among the species.4.Annual growth rhythm of seedling shaped "S" curve among the species, and annual growths were divided into four phrases, which were period of emergence, seedling stage, fast-growing stage, and woody stage.5.All seedling growth increments were over 50%of their annual increment in fast-growing stage. The fastest of daily growth appeared in Photinia davidsoniae, getting 0.65cm;the lowest was Camellia gigontocarpa(0.12cm).With their fast-growing stage as a control factor we can determine their fertilizer application levels.6.Results showed that height and radial growth of annual seedling were different. The highest growth of seedling height occurred in Photinia glabra, hitting to 68.2cm,and the lowest in Daphniphyllum macropodum, only 15.1cm;the highest and lowest of seedling radial growth appeared in Manglietia moto and Ilex triflora were 1.01cm and 0.41cm.7.The number of lateral roots that more than 5cm was an important index for seedlings quality. The most number appeared in Daphniphyllum oldhami was 42.2,and least in Tutcheria microcarpa only 11.9.Some measures should be taken to promote the development of lateral roots in forestation.8.There was significant difference in biomass among species. The highest was Manglietia moto, getting 66.60g;on the small side were Ilex szechwanensis,Ilex triflora an Daphniphyllum macropodum, only 9.41g,8.15g and 7.34g.For enhance survival rate of afforestation, part of leaves may be eliminate for planting.
