Effect Of Combined Chinese Herbs On Non-specific Im-mune And Antioxidant Function Of Cyprinus Carpio L

The research was carried on the effects of Chinese herbal compound on non-specific immune and antioxidant function of carp(Cyprinus carpio L.).the components of the Chinese herbal compound were manyprickle(Acanthopanax sent- icosus Harms),medlar(L.chinense Mill.),honeysuckle (Lonicera japonica Thunb.) and astragali (A stragalus m em branaceu).In this trial, carp(Cyprinus carpio L.) were fed with basal formulated diet supplemented separately with the above four kinds of Chinese herbal compound, the NBT positive cells,the phagocytic activity of macrophage to sheep erythrocyte,the Lysozyme activities in serum and immune organs,the content of complement C3 in serum,the content of protein in serum,the NO content in serum and immune organs,the index of immune organs,the CAT and SOD activities in erythrocyte and liver,the creafinine concentration in serum,and the GOT and GPT activities in serum and liver ,all of above were measured in the14 th,28 th and the 42 th day respectively, the results are showed as follows:The NBT positive cells: The number of NBT positive cells of compoundâ… increased signific- antly ,it also increased by compoundâ…¡,compoundâ…¢,compoundâ…£on the 28th day;the NBT positive cells significantly increased by all the above four Chinese Herbs compounds on the 42th day,and the number of NBT positive cells of the compoundâ… was significantly higher than the others .the number of NBT positive cells in all the four compounds had a sustained rising trend,and the effect of the compoundâ… was the best of all compounds.The phagocytic activity of macrophage to sheep erythrocyte : on the 14th day , the phagocytic activity of macrophage to the sheep erythrocyte significantly increased by compoundâ… and compoundâ…£on the 28 th day, the phagocytic activity of macrophage to the sheep erythrocyte significantly increased by all compounds . on the 42th day ,the phagocytic activity of macrophage to the sheep erythrocyte significantly increased by compoundâ… and the phagocytic activity of macrophage to the sheep erythrocyte significantly increased by other compounds .The phagocytic activity is one of the important non-specific immune functions, this results showed that the effect was significant to all compounds .The activities of Lysozyme : on the 14 th day, the Lysozyme activities in serum of compoud â… were significantly higher than control group , the Lysozyme activities in spleen of compoundâ… ,compoundâ…¡and compoundâ…¢were significantly lower than control group ; on the 28 th day, the Lysozyme activities in spleen of compoundâ… were significantly lower than control group , the Lysozyme activities in serum of compoundâ… and compoundâ…¡,the Lysozyme activities in spleen of compoundâ…¡were significantly higher than the control group , on the 42 d , the Lysozyme activities in head kidney of compoundâ… , the Lysozyme activities in spleen of compoundâ… , compoundâ…¢and compoundâ…£were significantly higher than the control group ; owing to different time and compounds,the results showed that the effect of compounds to the Lysozyme activities was dissimilar .The content of complement C3 in serum : on the 42 th day, The content of complement C3 in serum significantly increased by all compounds . It showed that they could improve the capability of resisting to be infected.The activities of CAT in erythrocyte and liver : on the 42th day , the CAT activities in erythrocyte of compoundâ… were significantly higher than the control group , the results showed that the CAT activities in erythrocyte increased by compoundâ… .The SOD activities in erythrocyte and liver : on the 28th day ,excepting compoundâ… , the CAT activities in erythrocyte of all compounds were significantiy higher than the control group , on the 42th day , the SOD activities in liver of compoundâ… were significantiy higher than the control group , and the SOD activities in liver of compoundâ…¡were significantiy higher than control group .The GOT,GPT activities in erythrocyte and liver : on the 14 th day , the GOT activities in liver of compoundâ… were significantiy lower than control group , on 28 th day , the GOT activities in serum of compoundâ…¡and the GPT activities in serum of compoundâ…¢were significantiy lower than control group , on 42 th day , the GPT activities in serum of all compounds were significantiy lower than the control group . It showed that the quantity of all the above four compounds could not do harm to the liver.
