Pest Risk Analysis Of Chicory Introduction

Scientific Risk analysis on alien invasive species(AIS) is a first crucial step in construction an early-warning system and preventing biological invasions. On the basis of the several sequential transitions in the biological invasion process, Cichorium intybus L.were considered as pattern organism and risk assessments were implemented.With the introduction of large numbers of edible and forage chicory from other countries in recent years, the possibility of a lot of pest against chicory and other crops entering China was growing. Based on the implementation of international phytosanitary standards, this paper did risk analysis of pest possibly carried with the introduction of Chicory, identified fifteen kinds of quarantine pests, twelve kinds of limited non-quarantine pests, and made appropriate risk management measures.
