The study was conducted to investe the effects of glutamine and L-carnitine supplementation on animal growth promotion and low temperature slowing up,in respect to production performance, immunity condition and anti-oxygen ability.This can provide theory basis and reference for the usage of substance defending from stress in production practisce.Four hundred and eighty 1-day-old AA broilers were randomly allocated into 16 groups with 3 replicates of 10 broilers .The trial was designed to L16(45) orthogonal experiment. Glutamine supplemental levels were 0%,0.4%,0.6%,0.8%,L-carnitine supplemental levels were 0 mg/Kg ,50 mg/Kg,75 mg/Kg,100 mg/Kg,respectively. The experiment was carried out witnin 2 weeks and 1 week beforehand.The results of the experiment are as follow:1.Performance:Glutamine and L-carnitine had significant influence on total performance of AA broilers exposed to low temPerature(P<0.05).Average daily feed intake of AA broilers was affected significantly by Glutamine and L-carnitine supplementation in low temperature,but the interaction was not significant(P>0.05).Glutamine,L-carnitine and the interaction of them had affected the average daily weight gain and feed/weight gain of AA broilers exposed to low temperature at the first week(P<0.05),after that there was not significant effects on average daily weight gain and feed-weight ratio of AA broilers(P>0.05),but the interaction of them was significant.2.Immune organ index:Glutamine had extremely affected the spleen index of AA broilers(P<0.01)but no significant influence on thymus index and bursa index(P>0.05).L-carnitine had extremely distinct effect on thymus index(P<0.01)but no significant influence on spleen index(P>0.05).There was not significant effect of L-carnitine on bursa index(P>0.05).3.Anti-oxygen index:Glutamine had significnt influence on serum SOD at these two weeks in low temperature(P<0.05) ,but L-carnitine had not (P>0.05).There was extremely significnt effect of the interaction between them on serum SOD(P<0.01). Serum GSH-PX of AA broilers exposed to low temperature was affected significantly by Glutamine supplementation in diets(P<0.05).No differences were found on serum GSH-PX during two-week of low temPerature broilers fed with diets of different levels L-carnitine,there was interaction between them at the second week of low temperature(P<0.05). Glutamine had decreased significantly serum MDA of AA broilers in low temperature at the last week(P<0.05)and L-carnitine had distinct effect on serum MDA during the experiments(P<0.05).There was significant interaction between them at the first week under low temperatur(eP<0.05),meanwhile the interaction of Glutamine and L-carnitine was extremely different at the last week(P<0.01). Glutamine had extremely significnt influence on serum T-AOC among two-weeks of low temperature(P<0.01).At the last week, there was extremely distinct difference between L-carnitine and the interaction of Glutamine and L-carnitine(P<0.01).4. Endocrinology :Glutamine had extremely significant effect on serum Cor. of AA broilers exposed to low temperature at the second week(P<0.01).No differences were found on Serum Cor. during two-week of low temperature broilers fed with diets of different levels L-carnitine(P>0.05). The distinct differences were found on serum Cor. of of AA broilers exposed to low temperature at the second week. (P<0.05). Glutamine and L-carnitine had not influence on serum FT3 during experiments(P>0.05).There was significnt effect of Glutamine on serum FT4 among two-weeks in low temPerature(P<0.05). L-carnitine had extremely significant effect on serum FT4 of AA broilers exposed to low temoerature at the last week(P<0.01). The interaction between Glutamine and L-carnitine had extremely significant effect on serum FT4 of AA broilers exposed to low temoerature during experiments(P<0.01).5. Serum biochemical Parameters:Glutamine and L-carnitine had significant effect on serum Glu of AA broilers exposed to low temperature during experiments(P<0.05).The extreme difference was found on serum TP of AA broilers exposed to low temperature among the period of the experiment by Glutamine(P<0.01).Serum TP was significnrly affected by L-carnitine(P<0.05).There was not effect of L-carnitine on Serum BUN(P>0.05). Glutamine and the interaction between them had significant effect on Serum BUN of AA broilers exposed to low temperature at the last week (P<0.05). Glutamine ,L-carnitine and the interaction of them significantly decreased serum ALP at the last week(P<0.05).Known from change analysis of production performance,anti-oxygen indices and biochemical index,the oPtimum diets for AA broilers in low temperature enviroment was supplemented 0.8%Glutamine,75mg/Kg L-carnitine.
