Sericulture production has been impacted greatly by Diaphania pyloalis (Walker), an outbreak of the pest. The researches on experimental population dynamics and harm rule of Mulberry caused by Diaphania pyloalis were carried out by field investigation and pest situation monitoring in Wujiang city. Major biological characteristics and ecological adaptation of Diaphania pyloalis, loss of mulberry caused by Diaphania pyloalis were hold. Control threshold of Diaphania pyloalis was raised and early warning for pest control indicators was established combining with the pest occurrence, weather information, feeding habits and the growth of mulberry. The natural population dynamics of pest was mastered and its constraints factors of experimental population growth number was clarified, the life cycle table of the pest was made sure, the establishment of a wintering the progress model for pupate and eclosion of pest, population forecasting model were established, it provides a theoretical basis and practical basis for forecasting outbreak of the pest, and will improve the accuracy of the forecasts. Otherwise, several new pesticides for controlling pest had been screened out.
