Predatory miridae, natural enemy of insect pests, are economically and ecologically important in agriculture and forest pest control. A study was conducted whether the Nesidiocoris tenuis (Reuter) is a vector of tobacco mosaic virus (TMV), the predation of N. tenuis to Trialeurodes vaporariorum,eggs,second-nymphy Plutella xylostella, eggs and Aphis glycines were quantitatively investigated in the laboratory, and the efficiency of N. tenuis to control T. vaporariorum was tested in greenhouse. This study provides necessary foundation to use N. tenuis as an important beneficial insect for the biological control of insect pest in the future. The conclusions of this study include:1 N. tenuis adults placed on an artificial diet with TMV for 24 hours then they were transferred onto the healthy plant in 12 day and the tobacco mosaic symptom was not found, the similar result was observed for the N. tenuis placed on the tobacco plants inoculated with TMV and showed the tobacco mosaic symptom for 24 hours then transferred onto the healthy plant. The results from Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay ( ELISA) and Transmission Electron Microscope(TEM) are consist with above results, the data from this the study show that the N. tenuis adults do not transmit TMV.2 Predation of N. tenuis on adults of T. vaporariorum,eggs,second-nymphy P. xylostella, eggs and A. glycines were investigated in the laboratory. The results indicated that all the functional responses of N.tenuis to preys were showing a Hollingâ…¡Type. The searching efficiency decreased with increase of predator density , N.tenuis and preys had interference ,which could be fitted with Hassell model. N. tenuis can control pestes density3 The efficiency of N. tenuis to control T. vaporariorum in Field was tested, the decrease rate of T. vaporariorum population was 86% in field on 21 day, releasing N.tenuis 10-20 per m~2 of in field was appropriable. The result indicated that the controlling of T. vaporariorum by releasing N.tenuis in 14 day was better than in 7 day .
