In order to learn the difference among the ridge culture,flat culture,rench culture systematic and the effect of yield and physiology character under different density treatment condition.field culture and pot culture which object study ZD958 and ND108 were carried out in the corn reseach gardon of ShanDong Agriculture University from 2006 to 2008.The main results were as follow:1 The grain yield components between maize varietiesThere is difference grain yield between different varieties.Under the lower density the ear of ZD958 is less than ND108,The weight of thousand seeds is larger than ND108.Under the higher density ND108 got less grain yield between lower density.but ZD958 got more grain yield.so ZD958 is more fit for higher density culture.2 The grain yield components under the different culture of maize varietiesComparison the grain yield of maize under different density in different culture shows that the grain yield of ridge culture is maximal.under the lower density ZD958's grain yield of ridge culture is 6.4% higher than flat culture and 5.3% higher than thrench culture. under the higher density ZD958's grain yield of ridge culture is 2.4% higher than flat culture and 13.1% higher than thrench culture. under the lower density ND108's grain yield of ridge culture is 9.5% higher than flat culture and 15.3% higher than thrench culture. nder the lower density ND108's grain yield of ridge culture is 1.6% higher than flat culture and 9% higher than thrench culture.only under lower density the trench culture's weight of thousand of ZD958 is higher than ridge culture.else is lower.The ridge culture's dry matter accumulation is higher than flat culture or trench culture under both lower and higher density.but those difference of dry matter accumulation do not reach notable level.The ridge culture of leaf area reduce more slowly than other culture after anthesis.3 The root properties under the different culture of maize varietiesAt the earlier stage of growing,both ZD958 and ND108's root dry matter accumulation appear out the trend increase quickly.The ridge'root dry matter accumulation is more and more than flat culture and trench culture after anthesis.trench is the last.After milky,because of the feeble and death of root, the root dry matter accumulation reduces at three culture,and trench culture reduce most obvious.The different of day's increace of length is not obvious before anthesis ,but after anthesis the difference begin to become obvious.The ridge culture's day increase length is most,the trench culture is lest.The different of total length among three culture is not reach obvious,but after milky the different become obvious,the ridge culture'total length is still increasing and other's are reduced.the total volume among three culture is not obvious,trench culture's total volume is maximal before anthesis.4 The physiological characteristics under the different culture of maize varietiesThe root activity of ND108 increased in the early and then decreased according with signal apex curve.the average activity of ridge culture is higher than flat culture and trench culture.at lower density the activity of ridge culture decrease slowly after filling stage,and the activity of ridge culture is higher than every stage at higher density. he root activity of ZD958 increased in the early and then decreased according with signal apex curve,too.the average activity of ridge culture is higher than flat culture and trench culture.at lower density the activity of ridge culture decrease slowly after filling stage,and in 20-80cm soil depth the activity of ridge culture is higher than every stage at higher density.The activity of SOD increased in the early and then decreased.after anthesis the activity of flat culture is higher than trench culture,but not obvious different with ridge culture.The activity of POD increase as kernel developed.The contents of MDA change rhyram is not regularity.
