In order to provide scientific basis for the breed conservation and utilizing of Qingping(Q) Pig,we studied on breed characteristics of the local fine breed——Qingping Pig.Qingping pig,New Qingping line(DQ,DDQ),and Landrace were used in this study.1 Qingping pig species resources crisis The number of Qingping pig in recent years have greatly decreased.To 2007,the Qingping stud pig farm of Dangyang town of Hubei province only had a small population which just keeps 9 bloodlines,18 boars,and about 76 sows,and the effctive population size of it was only 58.21.The result showed that Qingping pig genetic resource is seriously endangered and need to be urgently conserved.2 Reproductive performance The reproductive performance records for Qingping (Q) pig were analyzed.The capability of piglet performance could keep 14-15 parities average,The total number born(TNB) was 12.04±3.25 piglets,litter size born alive(NBA) 11.63±3.43 piglets,number born weaning(NBW) was 9.77±2.79 piglets,and they were positive correlated with each other(0.65-0.91).average gestation period was 112.46±2.91days.The parity and sows farrowing season on the piglet performanced significant difference(p<0.05),but sows farrowing season on gestation period performanced no significant difference(p>0.05).Different variety or individual of boars/sows on gestation period performanced extremely significant difference(p<0.01) or significant difference(p<0.05).3 RN and RYR1 gene PCR-RFLP testing The polymorphisms of two genes (RYR1,RN) were genotyped by PCR-RFLP in the populations of Qingping, DQ(Duroc×Qingping),DDQ(Duroc×DQ) pigs(about 240 samples).The allelic frequencies of RN locus in there pig populations were all rn~+/rn~+,no rn~/RN~- and RN~-/RN~- genotypes.The allelic frequencies of RYR1 locus were 96.2%and 3.8% responding to Hal~N aUelic and Hal~n allelic only in DQ pigs.The frequencies of there genotypes of Hal~N/Hal~N,Hal~N/Hal~n and Hal~n/Hal~n were respectively 92.5%,7.5%and 0%.4 Partial immune index determination Four pigs breeds were taken to examine IgG and 16 blood physiological indexs(include cellular immunity index).The results showed that the majority indexs of Q,DQ,DDQ,and Landrace were increase or reduce in turn,Q and DQ,DDQ,Landrace existenced extremely significanced difference(p<0.01) or significant difference(p<0.05),but existenced no significant difference(p>0.05) among DQ and DDQ.WBC as one of the most important cellular immunity indexs, performanced no significant difference(p>0.05) among the four pigs breeds,however granulocyte which is a part of WBC performanced significant difference(p<0.05) among different breeds.Absolute value of GRN and MNC of Q were higher than DQ,DDQ,and Landrace,but the absolute value of LYM was lower than DQ,DDQ,and Landrace.The ratio of LYM and GRN were extremely significant different(p<0.01) or significant different(p<0.05) among the four pig breeds.Phenotypic correlations analysis showed that serum levels of IgG were positive correlated with cellular immunity index.Serum levels of IgG was positive correlated with WBC(r=0.38),WBC was positive correlated with MNC and GRN(r=0.60,0.64),RBC was positive correlated with HGB and HCT(r=0.85,0.88)in Qingping pig.
