Along with the increasingly opening of the university, the functions of the University are increasingly diversified, and the scale of the school continues to expand. As of a high concentration of people living environment, the university campus has a high population density and few remaining natural landscape, and in various degrees, influenced by people's interference and damage. HUNAU (Hunan Agricultural University) is a university of more than 38 000 people. The lawns there play a more and more important role in the ecosystem of the campus. Therefore, how to plant lawns in such campus as HUNAU has been an important direction in the present study of the lawn ecosystem. This paper carries out an investigation on the state of the existing turf field in HNAU, studying the turf quality with AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process), the ecological functions with testing samples, and the landscape and service functions with comparative analysis. The test results show:1 Single type of lawn, unreasonable collocationMain grass species: Zoysia matrella, Zoysia sinica, Liriope spicata, Cynodon danctylon×C. transvadlensis 'tifegreen', Agrostis stolonifera, Reineckea carne, C. danctylon×C. transvadlensis tifway, Lolium perenne, Iris tectorum. The rate of cool-season turf grass and warm-season turf grass is less than 1:5.2 Less per capita lawn area, uneven distributionThe existing lawn area is less than 6 hm~2, and the per capita lawn area less than 1.6 m~2, with uneven distribution. The student dormitory area has a large population, but a very small lawn.3 Low conservation and maintenance managementMost lawns are planted directly with blocks without soil preparations, and built on the construction waste. Poor maintenance leads to the poor turf quality.4 High ever-green grass quality, high cost of maintenanceOn the comprehensive list of the turf quality, Cynodon danctylon×C. transvadlensis mixed with Lolium perenne ranks the best to 4.28 points. But it is easy to be invaded by pests, making lawn maintenance costs increased. Furthermore, the excessive use of pesticides worsens the people and environment. Iris tectorum is the worst, only 1.8 points.5 Poor lawn ecological efficiency and landscaping features The humidification and cooling capacity of the lawn and the specific surface area form a direct ratio. The higher degree of height, the greater humidification and cooling capacity; the higher turf density and finer texture, the greater specific surface area and less sunlight.6 Proposal to campus lawn buildingExcavate native grass plant to create turf landscape with rich colors, increase the turf conservation. The campus life services need to focus on color collocation, reconcile the color changes in the landscape, emphasize the integrity and science, and enhance the continuity of the landscape lawn.
