In china, it was estimated that the amount of crop residues is 0.7 billion ton.Some are used on feed process, return it field, paper making , etc. A majority of them are burned on farm and result in serious environmental pollution and biomass resource waste. The biomass power generation technology can convert argricultual wastes into energy. The compression process has gained a renewed attention from the more and more countries in order to use agricultural residues.The compression process of biomass is the ues of some form of mechanical pressure to reduce its volume, easier to handle and store than the original material. In order to design machinery used to compact biological material such as fibrous agricultural residues, it is necessary to have some knowledge about the mechanical hehavior of such material at all stages of their process.These materials posses mechanical properties which are dependent on the applied stress and strain, strain rate, humidity content, temperature, amongst other parameters.One of the most important stages in the design of this type of equipment is the stress analysis both in the structural elements and the material being processed. Biological material whose behavior depend mainly on the imposed state of stress, time, deformation and strain rate, etc. In the sense, the main purpose of this paper is to investigate properties of compression and relaxation of straw.Moreover, to analyze the effect experimental factor on compression density and on the performance of relax density.
