Investigation and research on the species occurred and damage of termites in Foshan, and especially studied parts of biological characteristics and control measures of termites on the main species of Odontotermes formosanus.Hoping that it can supply theories and experimental bases to termite integrated control of Foshan .The main studied contents are summarized as follows:1,Survey show that the main species of termites occurred in Foshan are Odontermeso formosanus, Macrotermes barneyi ,Capritermes nitobei, Coptotermes formosanus and so on and investgated their damagement status and the species of their natural enemies.2,Experimental study of different food through the feeding of Odontotermes formosanus termite survival and reproduction rates, found that Pinus massoniana Lamb for Odontotermes formosanus favorite food, the highest rate of survival and reproduction.3,Through experimental studies in different temperature conditions on the Odontotermes formosanus termite eggs hatch, the young termites development, as well as the food worker's take on a new wing groups from the impact of female fecundity and found that 25℃for termites Odontotermes formosanus the most appropriate Survival temperature.4,Odontotermes formosanus studied termite soldier in the same termites colony and the individual worker ratio of the average soldier to 10%, 90% of the average worker.5,Researched the weather condition of Odontotermes formosanus in nuptial flight, and found that sunny day is the most number of termites in nuptial flight.6,Experimented on the control test of Odontotermes formosanus by adopting termite attractive toxicants SPW and using trap lamp.and offered some advice about the integrated control technology of termite in Foshan.
