Triploid seedless watermelon was diffusely favored by a great deal of consumers because of its features in stronger growth potential, disease-resistant, high-sugar contents and convenience of edible. More and more triploid seedless watermelons are planted all over the world. Different levels of germination obstacles exist in most of the seed-cases because they have special structures. Usually the germination rates are just about 30 percent if the seeds are not treated. The general method to deal with this problem is to crack the seed-case with teeth or cut the seed-cases by use of tools, but the embryos are easily injured and time is wasted. There are a lot of inconveniences in actual productions. Especially the seeds which are sold as commodities to consumers, the consumers need to handle by themselves. The germination rate may decline because of improper operation, and then consumers and businesses may have great disputes. The problem of broking of triploid seedless watermelon seed-cases has been one of the key issues among watermelon industry experts and scholars. The results of this research are as follows:1 Through the seedless watermelon seed source within the cell wall of the testing, found in the seedless watermelon, sources within both before and after the germination of the existence of the cell wall enzyme, but in the forthcoming germination period of time, the activity of the lower than the watermelon seeds, perhaps seedless watermelon is a low germination rate is a factor.2 By scanning electron microscopy observations found that the seeds of watermelon seeds in the seed-set of the cell wall germination and there is obvious signs of thinning in the two kinds of seed-set binding sites, some walls have been possible corrosion by the enzyme. 3Through chemical methods to deal with the seedless watermelon seeds, that is whether the use of vitriol acid etching, or the use of potassium and H2O2, can achieve a certain effect. However, the germination rate was less than the actual production standards and whether to have an impact on the growth needed further study.On the basis of this experiment, the seedless watermelon seeds broken seed-set of the problem is a compositive reasons for the results, but if the use of outside sources of seed processing, so that kind of seed-set softening enzyme, this problem can be solved, but Also need a lot of research.
