Resource Investigation And Analysis Of Community Structure Of Lepidoptera Insects In The Badagongshan National Nature Reserve

A great variety of Lepidoptera insects is inferior to the variety of Coleopteran in the INSECTA. The study is one of important project of the National Science and Technology infrastructure, and is a part of the sub-project of neatening, integration and sharing of biological samples in Nature Reserve—Investigating and neatening insect specimens of the National Nature Reserve in Hunan Provence. The investigations and analysis of community structure of Lepidoptera insects in the Badagongshan National Nature Reserve not only supply informational specimens for the National Science and Technology infrastructure, but also are of great significance for the study, protection and development of biological resources.Form April to September 2007, the author and subject group systematic investigated Lepidoptera resources in the Nature Reserve by the means of survey routes, standard surveys, as well as lights three ways ; A large number of specimens collected, and most of the specimens were neatened, produced and identified; while neatened and identified previous collection of the Badagongshan National Nature Reserve which stored in the Hunan Agricultural University. In the process of acquisition, different seasons, different vertical band of forest areas and different habitats for the community structure and diversity survey were involved.In the process of investigation, more than 5000 Lepidoptera specimens were collected, and more than 4000 specimens were produced; 1500 Lepidoptera specimens collected in the Hunan Agricultural University were neatened; 3970 Lepidoptera specimens in all were identified. According to results of identification, the paper summed up the Lepidoptera preliminary roster of the Badagongshan National Nature Reserve, a total of 33 Section 523 kinds, including 16 new distribution of Hunan.And due to the investigation, we conclude that the main elements of the fauna in this region are Oriental. Lepidoptera species diversity in different seasons, different vertical distribution of butterflies and in different habitats and diversity of butterflies were involved in the survey. The results showed that: regardless of butterflies and moths, in August, the species richness and diversity index are in a maximum period of 3.8778 and 5.0349; the order of the diversity index (H~·)in different vertical distribution of butterflies is hilly belt of Agriculture and Forestry (elevation 300～800m)> evergreen deciduous broad-leaved forest (elevation 800～1300m)> evergreen broad-leaved forest (elevation 1300～1890m); various types of butterfly habitat diversity index (H~·) for mixed coniferous and broad-leaved forest > evergreen broad-leaved forest > plain among valleys > shrub forest.Lepidoptera species in the Badagongshan have rich diversity and complex composition. This study is continuing, and the paper made a number of suggestions on investigation and research in the future.
