Ecosystem services imply the natural environmental conditions and their effectiveness formed and sustained by ecosystems and ecological processes,on which,human life relies for existence.This is the basis of economic and social sustainable development.The study on ecosystem services and their monetary values has been paid much attention in ecology.Rice paddy ecosystems have close relationship with human beings and provide natural resources and human environment services.However,with the development of the modern agriculture, particularly the large amount of agrochemical application such as fertilizer,chemicals,and the growth regulates and so on,which weaken the service functions.In addition,the environment was destroyed by improper measures.Therefore,it is essential to study the ecosystem services function and estimate the value.The article studied the primary product providing,gas regulation and organic matter accumulation by the rice paddy ecosystems on the farm of HZAU Farm and in Wuhan as follows:1.With the analysis of some concepts and their evaluation system related to ecosystem services and reference to some relevant evaluation approaches,this study was to apply monetized quantitative evaluation services of parts of service functions of the suburban area paddy field ecosystem system in Wuhan,establish the assessment framework of Rice paddy ecosystem.2.This study was conducted in the subside of Wuhan,according to the assessment framework of rice paddy ecosystem services,estimated the ecosystem services by the rice paddy ecosystems in Wuhan in 2006.The value of primary product proving was 14.992×10~8yuan(29%of the total value),gas regulation 22.268×10~8yuan(54%of the total value),soil orgainic matter forming and accumulating 4.2572×10~8yuan(10%of the total value),water regulation 2.757×10~8yuan(7%of the total value.)3.The results indicated that rice-duck ecosystem could provide more ecosystem services value than the normal model paddy filed about 765.10yuan/hm~2.Among the services of the two planting models,the function of gas regulation was the greatest,followed by material production function.With regard to the model with duck raising,the function of gas regulation and material production covered 56.13%and 31.37%of the total value,respectively.As for the model with normal model paddy filed,function of gas regulation and material production function covered 54.82%and 32.11%of the total value,respectively.Rice-duck ecological management could reduce environment loss 235.06yuan/hm~2.The function of gas regulation by rice-duck ecosystem provided more 594.62yuan/hm~2 than the model with normal model paddy filed.
