This experiment was analyzed by single factor of completely random design and studied the Effects of supplementation bee pollen in the diet on sperm quality and blood biochemical indexes in Hy-line breeder cocks.120 Hy-line breeder cocks,at 50 wk of age,were randomly divided into 6 groups(n=20) with 4 repeats in each group and 5cocks in each group to investigate the effects of supplementation of bee pollen in the diet on sperm quality and plasma concentration of reproductive hormones in Hy-line breeder cocks.Group A(control group)fed with basic diet and group B,C,D,E,F five treatments were fed basic diet plus 0.5%,1%,1.5%,2%,2.5%of the bee pollen.The semen quality measurement was carried out at the prior of experiment and 15,30,45,60 days of experiment,respectively;At the prior of experiment and 30,60 days of experiment,the concentration of T,LH,FSH,E2,T3,T4,Cort,blood total protein,albumin,and globulin and the activity of GSH-PX and T-SOD were determined respectively.The results showed that:The semen amounts of control group decreased by 40.42%(P<0.05),compared with the prio;the semen density increased by 13.88%,46.61%,32.33%,24.96%,12.76%,but there was no significant(P>0.05); Group1.5%and 2%,increased by 34.05%and 41.04%respectively,had higher numbers of live sperm than control group(P<0.05),Linear motion sperm counts of group 1%were significantly higher than A(P<0.05),Increased by 36.59%;there was no significant between others group.The concentration of FSH of group 0.5%,1%,1.5%,2%,2.5%significantly increased(P>0.05); meanwhile control group decreased by 8.02%;the concentration of LH in group 2%showed a 14.44% increase(P>0.05);the concentration of T in control group showed a 34.4%decrease,while respectively increased by 28.08%,25%and18.91%in group 0.5%,1.5%,and 2.5%(all had no significant,(P>0.05);the concentration of E2 in group 1.5%,2%and 2.5%was lower than control group,but there was a significant increase by 33.24%(P<0.05);cort in control,1%,1.5%and 2.5%group increased by 13.56%,0.56%,10.27% and 1.56%respectively(P>0.05),group 0.5%and 1.5%decreased by 0.37%and 0.98% respectively(P>0.05).The semen amounts,Linear motion sperm counts,FSH,T4 and Cort had a weakly positive relativity(P<0.05);sperm motility had a strongly positive relativity with semen density linear motion sperm counts(P<0.05)and it's correlation coefficient was 0.447,0.591,had a weakly positive relativity with FSH and T4(P<0.05);it was a positive relativity between semen density and linear motion sperm counts,FSH(P<0.05);Linear motion sperm counts had a weakly positive relativity with FSH(P<0.05)and a weakly negative relativity withT3,Cort;T had a positive relativity with LH,FSH.GSH-PX in group 0.5%,2%and 2.5%secreased by 10.06%,8.44%and 0.97%(P>0.05);T-SOD in control,0.5%,1%,2%,1.5%and 2.5%decreased by 9.25%,1.25%,14.01%,3.22%,7.64%and 18.47% (P>0.05).The serum TP,ALB and GLOB in group 0.5%,1%and 2%decreased respectively(P>0.05);however, group 1.5%,2.5%had TP concentration increased by 4.89%and 19.77%(P>0.05),ALB increased by 4.89%,19.77%(P>0.05),GLOB increased by 33.92%,13.23%(P>0.05).
