The effects of different concentrations of uniconazole(S3307) on the drought resistance of Lolium perenne were studied.A series of studies were conducted to examine the nutrition growth, root development status, tolerance physiologies, antioxidant status, photothesis characteristics, and mechanisms of regulation to foliar spraying application of uniconazole(S3307) in Lolium perenne. The main results were as follows:The results showed that growth-control result from 40mg/L of uniconazole(S3307) is better than others. In every treatment, leaves and sheath shortened and breadth increase. Lamina number and tillers in single plant increased. The weigh and length of every group add distinct. The ratio of the root to crown of Lolium perenne increased, treatment 40mg/L is 2.2 better than CK.This suggests that uniconazole can effectively increase root growth but control the growth of shoot of the Lolium perenne. To foliar spraying application of uniconazole(S3307) in Lolium perenne, chlorophyll content increased in terms of treatment with S3307,photothesis assimilation promoted and transpiration decreased, water utilization efficiency increased on the contrary.Soluble sugar and protein content increased as a result of application of different preparation. The content of protein increased but electrolyte exosmosis rate and the relative electrical conductivity decreased. These results reflect an improvement of drought resistance. The treatment 80mg/L is over-controlled root development status, though it decreased the drought- resistance of the Lolium perenne. In conclusion:treatment 40mg/L are better than others.
