| With the death reports of people infected with mad cow disease, avian flu and other infectious poultry disease emerging, human increase more emphasis on infectious poultry disease research than before. Research on the large spatial scale characteristics of the spread of infectious poultry disease becomes an important way of exporting the infectious poultry disease prevention and control measures.The main objective of this research is to develop a GIS based method to analysis the spatial-temporal changes of the distribution of infectious poultry disease during 2000 and 2008 and assess their current distribution in Poyang Lake in order to provide a GIS mode for the future analysis of spatial-temporal distribution of infectious poultry disease.By comparing the distribution characteristics of the infectious poultry disease in the reference years, the distribution changes in the past were apparent. The reasons of changes were analyzed form a few main perspectives: policies, transport, water and migratory birds.Integration of GIS and Matlab method has been used to assess existing distribution of infectious poultry disease in Poyang Lake. This research uses Matlab to calculate the risk factors'weight by least square method, and get fit the risk distribution of infectious poultry disease in Poyang Lake through ArcMap. Finally, based on the above analysis results, the paper makes some recommendations on the poultry disease prevent and control: attention to health issues of poultry farm environment, keep poultry away form migratory birds and any other infectious things.
