The water is the material basis that is important to human being's survival and development, drinking water safety is then an important problem of affecting human health and national welfare and people's livelihood. In the recent years, central and local government deepened the urban and rural drinking water safety guarantee, adopted in a series of measures include engineering measures and management measures, solved some central and local Residents' drinking water safety problem. However, the situation of drinking water safety is still quite severe, especially pastoral area, which shows two major aspects: water quality problem and built engineering management problem. Aiming at the outstanding problem of drinking water safety in pastoral area, we take the representative area Damao county, Baotou city, Inner Mongolia, as the study region, and build hydrotechny integration model and demonstration project suited to pastoral area.(1)Aiming at outstanding problem of drinking water safety―― the content of the fluorine exceeding standard, by analyzing a few common treatment technologies of high fluorine water at home and abroad, combining the features of Bailingmiao town, choosing reverse osmosis system to remove fluoride taking ultrafiltration as pretreatment, of which operating pressure is low, and efficiency of difluoridation reached over 96%.(2)According to"Technical Specification for Division of Conservation Areas of Drinking Water"(HJ/T338-2007), integrating hydrogeology condition and the situation of pollution source in Bailingmiao town, drawing scientifically the range of conservation areas of drinking water in study area, to ensure areas of life drinking water safe.(3) In order to enhance drinking water safety engineering management, on the basic of analyzing the main problem that exists in built drinking water safety engineering management in the countryside and pastoral area of our country, this paper summarize seven kinds of water supply project management mode of our rural. According to the water supply engineering practice, proposing management model suited to this engineering.
