Urban Village Area Rural Drinking Water Safety Problems And Early Warning Mechanism Research

Water is the source and necessity of life, almost everything in life needs water.Without safe water, the health of people, the sustainable development of economy, and even the harmony and stability of the society cannot be achieved. In the world today, about one fifth of the global people are devoid of safe drinking water, and every year, there are three to four million people who die from water-related diseases. In the rural areas in China, more than 300 million people are living without safe drinking water, which has become an increasingly important measurement of people’s living quality. In recent years, for solving the problem of safe drinking water, substantial work has been done by the government and some progress has been made. However, as a relative special part of rural area, urban village has been attracting the attention of the society for its drinking water problem. Urban village is formed during the process of rapid economic development and urbanization. It refers to the village located in the marginal area of the city which belongs to the city geographically but remains rural in land ownership, household registration and administrative regulation.Based on present situation and relative policies, investigating 42 urban villages in Gaoxing District, Chenzhou City, this paper analyses the problem of drinking water in urban village and the factors that affect the problem, including the pollution in water source region, water pollution, detection and disposition, the construction and regulation of drinking water project and so on. By researching the construction and operation of water security warning model, the author thinks of the system as an important measure to the problem. The author also provides some other practical solutions, including increasing people’s awareness of safe drinking water, strengthening the protection of water source region, preventing and treating water pollution, promoting the construction of safe drinking water project, perfecting the regulation system of the project and so on.
