This research take four kinds of psammophyte seeds as the object of study, including Caragana korshinskii, Hedysarum scoparium Fisch.et Mey, caragana intermedia and Ammopiptanthus mongolicus in order to determine the best germination condition different temperature: the entire illumination (10000lx) and the non-illumination conditions, different soil moisture content, and different depth to sow seeds and to provides the theory basis for the soil desertification government. The main results are as follows:1. Caragana korshinskii seeds sprout rapidly and the germination percentage is high under the conditions of 25℃, 15% soil moisture content and shallow layer sand. The root length and the bud diameter are also the best.2. Caragana intermedia seeds sprout rapidly and the germination percentage is high under the conditions of 25℃, 10% soil moisture content, and shallow layer sand. There is no remarkable difference in germination percentage in the entire illumination and in non-illumination.3.25℃is the best forgermination temperature of Hedysarum scoparium seeds. The suitable soil moisture content is 20% for it. The suitable depth in the sand is 1cm and 2cm.4. The most suitable sprouts condition is 25℃, 20% in soil moisture content for Ammopiptanthus mongolicus seeds. As the soil burying depth increase, the germination percentage obviously drops; therefore the shallow layer sand provides the suitable temperature and humidity. The germination percentage has no remarkable differences between the illumination and the dark condition in different temperature, the illumination has not obviously effects on germination percentage.5. Best germination temperature of the four kinds of psammophyte seeds is the same. The most suitable soil moisture content from low to high is: Caragana intermedia , Caragana korshinskii and Hedysarum scoparium and Ammopiptanthus mongolicus. Caragana korshinskii and Caragana intermedia adapt to the shallo burying depth (<1cm), 1cm for Caragana intermedia and 1cm~2cm for Hedysarum scoparium.6. Caragana korshinskii and Caragana intermedia adapt widely on soil moisture and temperature, therefore, they have strong adaptability to arid and semi-arid region of in China.
