In China, the annual output of Spent Mushroon Substrates (SMS) is estimated to be over 6.5 million tons, this nutritional SMS is generally abandon or burned without utilization.Such disposal of SMS not only cause the problem of wasting resource but also cause environmental problem of breeding mould and pest. This research started with the raw material of SMS which is easy to be collected in FUJIAN province and analysised its nutrition component. This research also discussed feasibility of the applied SMS as the substitute component in the culture of Coprinus comatus, as the organic fertilizer for planting navel orange, and as soilless culture for planting manila grass so as to utilize the resource of SMS and provide scientific basis for extending the recycle chain of biological resources.1. The nutrition component of the SMS of Lentinus edodes was analysed. The result showed that the SMS contained 17 kinds of amino acids and the total amino acid was over 4.42%; contained crude protein up to 9.40%, structural protein accounted for about half of total nitrogen-contained material, and cellulose accounted for the main type of carbon-contained material.Meanwhile, the SMS of Lentinus edodes still contained abundant of N, P, K, and other mineral trace element. From the view of nutritional analysis, the SMS of Lentinus edodes is the potential high valuable material to prepare the substrate of cultruring edible fungi and organic fertilizer for planting.2. SMS was used as the main component of substrate for culturing Coprinus comatus and optimize the process. 10 stains of Coprinus comatus was introduced, two stains of Beijing Coprinus comatus and No.8 Coprinus comatus were screened out to have advantage of higher yield, whiter color of mushroom body and higher ability of anti disease and insect pest; when compared with the raw substrate and the fermented subatrate, the sterilized substrate has the advantage of low contaminated, high yield and good commodity appearance; when using long bag for culturing, 18-20 bags can be stacked on per square meter ground,390g mushroom can be harvest from each bag, with profit of RMB 2 from each bag, so this new culturing method has the advantage of lessening of labour ,lower cost, and higher profit.3. SMS was used as organic fertilize for fruit tree of navel orange, and inspected the resultant changes of yield and quality. The result showed that the yield of the experimental group increased 5.54kg than controlled group (CK),reached the significant discrepancy; the high quality ratio increase 6%, the weight of single fruit improved 7g.Besides, the total acid value was lower while the total sugar content, reducing sugar, soluble solids and vitamine increased. The nutrition in soil was also improved, among it, the content of available potasslum, usable cacilum, effective zinc and soluble boron were double of CK group. So this method largely improved the structure quality of soil, it has more significant in continuously altering ,utilizing and maintain soil especially for the mountain orchard with the character of acid, poor, thin, stick and containing low organic matter4,SMS was used as soilless culture for planting manila grass. Result showed that it had better use mulch film as underlay, using mixture of 20% of SMS, 80%chaff, 100g/m2 of three-nutrient compound fertilizer, 2kg/㎡ SMS and 10-20% strain of grass seeds, adopted mixed planting method (i.e. mixed sowing of ground mass and grass seeds ) or half covering planting method (i.e. covering 1 cm thickness ground mass after sowing). The resultant manila grass has the superior of high quality, low cost and short rhythm of production.
