As the subject of terrestrial ecosystem,forest plays an important role in global carbon cycle. Biomass and carbon storage of forest is one of the hot issues in global climate change.Regard the poplar(populus×euramericana cv."74/76") as the research object.By the method of improved biomass based on tree composition and pipeline model theory,this paper calculated the biomass and carbon storage of poplar plantation,which had important practical significance.Analyzing seasonal dynamics and spatial distribution of leaf area index(LAl) of stand,studied the effect that environmental factors exerted on LAI.this paper analyzed the correlation between heartwood, sapwood and trunk peeling.With the height of trunk increases,the diameter of heartwood and the area of sapwood decrease.The age and height of trees have great influence on the sapwood.Leaf yield and branch and sapwood show the obvious positive correlation.We can get the correlation equation between leaf area and leaf yield.The climax values of biomass appear in different sites of tree height.This paper fitted the distribution of diameter grade for stand,establishing curve equation of tree height and biomass model of all organs,estimated the stand biomass and carbon storage.The annual increase of poplar biomass is 20.05 t·hm-2 form 2005 to 2008 and the increase amplitude of leaf yield is most in all organs.The forest carbon storage of stand eight-year 107 poplars is 49.3 t·hm-2 and the annual net carbon storage is 9.4 t·hm-2·a-1.this stand also has great potential for carbon sink in the future years.
