Surface roughness of Fraxinus mandshurica,Moso Bamboo(Phyllostachys pubescens) and Larix dahuria sanding with different kinds of abrasive belt was measured by a fine stylus method and analyzed with various factors. Then the surface roughness sense was analyzed by a psychometric method and the relation among measured data and the psychological values of touching and vision was discussed. The sanded surfaces of wood and bamboo pieces with different sanding conditions were used to measure the surface roughness and psychological values of touching and vision,in order to obtain the effects of the wood and bamboo species. Results shows that species and wood surface structure can affect the surface roughness. The surfaces roughness of wood and bamboo decreases with the increase of processing precision. The correlation between the psychological values of touching and vision, soft woods is a little higher than bamboos, and that of bamboos is a little higher than hard woods. The correlation of surface roughness and roughness sense, the touching psychological values is higher than vision psychological values.During sanding process, sanding belt grid is the most important element, and then is moving speed, sanding thickness. The orthogonal test was used as a tool to analyze the relationship between the bonding strength and surface roughness, and the result is optimistic. The bonding strength of the Fraxinus mandshurica,Moso Bamboo(Phyllostachys pubescens) and Larix dahuria get good a result after sanding by 180grid,100grid,150grid sanding belt,.
