| Leymus chinensis, member of the grammineae family, is a perennial rhizome grass. Grasslands dominated by L. chinensis are widly distributed at the eastern end of the Eurasian steppe, the northeast steppe and Inner Mongolia plateau in our country. With it's early spring emergence, rapid growth, high palatability and herbage production, makes grasslands ideal for grazing and forage production. It is reported that it produces few seeds and has weak sexua1 reproduction ability in natural conditions, thus severely restricting its artificial utilization. Aiming directly at this, we installed different treatments and investigated the effects of the nutrition and environmental condition on reproductive organ in Leymus chinensis. The main results are as follow:1. Our work showed that the pollen viability of L. chinensis is 56.22% stained with TTC, which can be enhanced significantly by treated with suitable nitrogen and water. And the pollen could survive only 4h at room temperature. We found 25℃is the suitable temperature to keep pollen viability, and it is losed more quickly in dry condition compared with wet..2. The pistil receptivity of L. chinensis is 92.31% detected with hydrogenperoxide- benzidine assay, and the pistil receptivity lasted for 5h at room temperature. The same as the pollen viability, we found 25℃is the suitable temperature for pistil receptivityand dry condition also shorten the pistil receptivity of L. chinensis.3. We observed the pollen germinated and the pollen tubes grew by Fluorescence microscope after pollination, results show that 41.02% of the pollen germinated and 3h later, pollen tubes reach ovary. Treated with suitable nitrogen and water can enhance the pistil receptivity , the pollen germinated rate and colony domino offect of pollen on the surface of stigma.4. Properly treated with suitable nitrogen and water can significantly increase it's fecundity of L. chinensis. These results indicated that the fertility-water treatment and temperature-humidity condition increased the capability of Reproductive organs and significantly increase it's fecundity. |
