The present paper discussed about the specific composition, fauna and ecological distribution of Acridoidea from Hulunbeier, including fauna analysis, community structure, species diversity and horizontal and vertical distribution in different vegetational zones of Hulunbeier. The similarity analysis of distributional pattern and community of the Acridoidea in different grassland type are given. The disaster of grasshopper and its control mode in Hulunbeier are introduced briefly.More than 7000 specimens of grasshopper were collected, including 7 families, 31 genera, 58 species. And most of them are belonging to Arcypteridae and Oedipodidae families.Accounting for 81% of total species are Palearctic species. Only one species is oriental species, accounting for 1.7%. Among the fauna of China, Northeast Regional species holds an important position. Mongolia- Xinjiang Regional species are the secondary. There are 7 endemic species in the area, accounting for 12.1% of total species. In different vegetational zones in Hulunbeier, there is the highest species diversity in the steppe zone. In which, 7 families, 26 genera and 46 species are found, accounting for 79.3% of total species. The highest order of magnitude of many species in this habitat are recorded. In contrast, only 5 families, 15 genera and 24 species, accounting for 41.4%, are found in Bright coniferous forest zone of cold-temperate type. Middle species diversity of the Acridoidea distributed in Forest steppe zone and Deciduous broad-leaf forest zone of mid-temperate type vegetation. Fourty-two species are found at altitude 800m, Whereas ,amount of species declining gradually upwards of 800m. And most of species distribute from altitude 500m to 800m. The analysis of hierarchical cluster to different habitat acoording to the distribution of species are made. We conclude that the fauna and ecological distribution of Acridoidea are associated with its habitats. At last, the author gives some advice about preventing the disaster of grasshopper.
