The implementation of the project of returning farmland to forest, to achieve a good ecological environment, optimize the industrial structure of rural economic prosperity, the harmonious development between man and nature, it is of great significance to establish as the main body of forest vegetation in the land ecological security system and beautiful eco-civil society. Since the implementation of the project of returning farmland to forest,The effectiveness of the project of returning farmland to forest whether the quality standards, need to focus on. In this study, remote sensing software ERDAS using image SPOT5 do pre-processing, image interpretation, image supervised classification, Accessed to woodland area through image SPOT5 reached classification accuracy, to find a new method for returning farmland to forest monitoring. This method applied in kangping town xiaochengzi village of liaoning province, the classification accuracy of the kappa coefficient were 76% and 85% higher classification accuracy, more in line with the actual situation. Show that this method can be applied to monitor the returning farmland to forests. The use of SPOT5 image, can monitor the area of returning farmland to forest land-use quickly and efficiently, ecological engineering can be used as returning farmland to forest dynamic monitoring and data update an important technical means. The use of ERDAS software of accuracy analysis module evaluated SPOT image of the results of supervised classification, come all to kind of classification accuracy. The study area with the design of returning farmland to forest operations and remote sensing images, Xiaochengzi village in 2003 and 2005 the overall land-use classification accuracy of remote sensing, respectively 90.02 percent and 93.12 percent, it can be used to detect the completion of returning farmland to forest area. The use of remote sensing technology to monitor the forests, on the one hand can save a lot of manpower, on the other hand, can avoid human factor to impact the test results of returning farmland to forests to the greatest extent.
