Returning Farmland to Forests Program (RFFP, also translated as the Sloping Land Conversion Program and the Grain for Green Program) is one of world’s largest program of payments of ecosystem services (PES) project. The RFFP has played a major role in transformations of land and livelihoods. RFFP may have such impacts on vegetation restoration and driving the landscape spatial pattern change, as well as miagration of rural surplus labors which could possible affect on community forest preformance. The object of this study is to verify a hypothesis:RFFP The community forest preformance and landscape patterns could be different in where communities with implementing and not implementing RFFP. In order to achieve this objective 12 communities in Weixi County of Diqing were selected. They are located in the core area of the Three Parallel Rivers of Yunnan Protected Areas World Natural Heritage Site. In this study 434 questionnaires,2000,2010 and 2014 remote sensing image data were used.284 forest quarts with 10m* 10m were investigated. Afterward, an index system of forest quality was built by factor analysis method, and forest quality index was calculated. The quantification of landscape pattern on the class level, forest quality and the migrant population differences of with RFFP and without RFFP communities, looking for the impact of environmental factors. The results show that:1、At the patch type levels, during the 2000-2014 period, the forest area and connectivity of Returning farmland to forest community increased, fragmentation decreased; the forest area of without Returning farmland to forest community also showed an increasing trend, but the distribution is discrete, fragmentation. The scrub area and connectivity of both communities all present declining trend, Returning farmland to forest community has high fragmentation; The farmland area and connectivity of both communities all present declining trend, Returning farmland to forest community has high fragmentation;2、At the landscape level, during the 2000-2014 period, both communities showed discrete distributions, connectedness reduces, degree of fragmentation are increasing;3、Elevation, land abandonment, the migrant population were the main environmental factors of forest landscape fragmentation; population density was the main environmental factors of shrub landscape fragmentation; migrant population, population density, ratio of participation in the project of returning farmland to farmers were the main environmental factors of farmland fragmentation.4、Hierarchical structure and biomass of forest community, Soil organic matter、PH、total nitrogen、total phosphorus、kalium、hydrolysis of nitrogen.. phosphorus and potassium, migrant population and time, forest quality index were not significantly differences between two types communities.5、Elevation, wood harvesting and solar energy projects on forest quality significantly.
