Rice straw used as the medium of soil-free turf, we investigated the effect of rice straw medium on turf trait, physicochemical characteristics and drought resistance of turf. To explore the suitable rice straw medium for soil-free turf, the five factors ( I .Rice straw : pig excrement sewage: decomposing agent=100:100:1; II. Rice straw: pig excrement sewage=100:100; III. Rice straw : urea: decomposing agent=100:100:1; IV. Rice straw : urea; medium depth=100:100.) were studied to the effect on growing time, Strength, and turf quality of turf by using of orthogonal and rotational combination design. In addition, we investigated the effect of four rice straws on physicochemical characteristics and drought resistance of turf with 25mm medium. The main result of this research was as following:In physicochemical characteristics, the aeration porosity of treatment III and IV was 65.2%, 58.0%, respectively. Both of them was higher than treatment I and II .But the water-holding porosity treatment of treatment I and II was 30%,31.6% ,and higherThe treatment III and IV.In nutrient elements, the content of total nitrogen treatment IV was 13.6g/kg,higher than three other treatments. While available nitrogen, available phosphorus, available potassium, total phosphorus and potassium of treatment I and II was higher than treatment III and IV.In addition, the improving soil fertility of treatment I and II was better than treatment III and IV.Analysis on effects of each element demonstrated: Treatment I made the biggest effect, and medium thickness, Treatment III medium the less. Treatment II and Treatment IV made the smallest. When Treatment I was 600g, Treatment II was 600g, Treatment III was 0g, Treatment IV was 600g and medium thickness was 20mm, the time to build a turf was shortest at 30.45d. On the other hand, tress density, coverage, color, texture and consistency of turf coil were used independent weighting method to calculate weights. When treatment I was 375g; Treatment II was 375g; Treatment III was 1125g; Treatment IV was 1125g and medium thickness was 25mm, the weight peaked at 105.44.Independent weighting method was used on turf intensity which formed turf intensity weight, comprising turf weight, root coverage, non-woven fabric weight and root length. When treatment I was 0g; Treatment II was 600g; Treatment III was 600g; Treatment IV was 600g and medium thickness was 20mm, the weight peaked at 60.15.Base on forming-sod days in 45 days, the weight value of turf quality 100 upwards, the weight value of turf intensity 45 upwards and cost within 2 yuan per m~2, the optimization scheme is 600g of Treatment 1, 600g of Treatment II, 0g of TreatmentIII, 600g of Treatment IV, 20mm of medium thickness. So the forming-days of the optimization scheme is 38.45 days, the weight value of turf quality of it is 102.61, the value of turf intensity is 45.63, and the cost is 1.26 yuan per m~2.Integrated evaluation values on drought tolerance of 4 different treatments are 0.519, 0.518, 0.478 and 0.481, respectively. Effects on drought tolerance of tall fescue are: Treatment I> Treatment II> Treatment IV> Treatment III. The drought tolerance of the tall fescue base on treatment I and II are better than base on treatment III andIV. And the straws humic poder have no markedness difference between treatment I and II, also between treatment III and IV.
