Begonia L. belongs to the family of the Begoniaceae. There are about 1500 species of Begonia L. all over the world. According to ancient and modern literatures, we did herbal textual research and investigated the history of Begonia L. in China. The Flora of Guizhou were revised and phylogeny of genus in Guizhou were discussed mainly based on evidences from specimens, morphology, molecular character and geographic distribution. The results were summarized as follows:1. The Siqi of Begonia which were recorded by herbs may be wrong based on the field studies and the special thingking model of T. C. M..2. Based on herbarium examinations, extensie field work, we revised Begonia sepcies in Guizhou taxonomically. The new keys for identification of their botanical morphology were provided. 21 species, 2 subspecies and 1 varieties of Bgeonia are recongnized in Flora of Guizhou . 2 new species B. zunyiensis S. Z. He & Y. M. Shui, and B. kaiyangensis S. Z. He & Y. M. Shui were proposed .3. We did cladistics research. The constant index of the strict consensus tree was only 0.3838, implying that there were too many non-homoplasy characters were used in cladistic analysis. So the key of phylogencfic studies of the examined taxa was to find out inaccuracy, while the results can still provide some references.4. Based on DNA sequence data from nuclear ribosomal ITS and chloroplast trnL-F space for 14 taxa of Begonia, the phylogeny of the genus was investigated. The results provided new evidences to support the taxonomy of Begonia L. in Gui zhou province.
