| Collect environmental data and physiological characteristics data of the main food crop in China. Use geographic information systems (GIS) platform to establish an environmental database (including climate, topography and soil factors) and the database of main crop for growth and devolepment condition. With the method of multi-criteria evaluation, achieve potential suitability areas for the main food crop in China between future and current climatic scenario. After comprehensive evaluation, the variation trend comprehensive evaluation of suitability areas for the main food crop in China in the future climatic scenario were as follows:1. The variation trends of suitability areas for spring wheat, winter wheat, naked oats, common oats, rice and potato would be concentrated. Mainly concentrated in the north and south ecotone and the Tibetan Plateau:In the north ecotone, spring wheat, winter wheat and common oats would showe an upward trend in the future, while naked oat and potato showed a decreasing trend; In the northeastern Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the northern edge of the area, winter wheat and naked oat would show an increasing trend, while in central and eastern edge of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, spring wheat, common oats and potato would show a decreasing trend;2. The variation trends of suitability areas for spring maize, summer maize and buckwheat would be scattered and large range.Spring maize would show an increasing trend except Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the other would show a decreasing trend over; summer maize in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and North China Plain would show an increasing trend, show a decreasing trend in the orther areas; buckwheat in the north and south ecotone would show an upward trend in the south, north of the present decreasing trend.The results showed that:in the future climatic scenario, China's major crop growing areas suitable and effective to increase and overall would show a trend of decentralization.
