In order to introduce excavate to pollinate for local apple pear, the effective accumulative temperature,low temperature resistance and the use in apple pear garden have been studied in 2009.The result are as follows:(1) Linear regression equation development rate and temperature of Excavate indicated significant differences.The threshold temperatures of egg-stage,larval phase,pupal stage,and one generation of Excavate were 9.58,9.33,12.43 and 12.11℃,and the effective accumulated temperatures were 52.26,428.92,1379.97 and 1816.18 d.℃respectively. The effective accumulated temperature greater than 10℃per year in Yanbian was 1146.00 d.℃,and it could not fulfill Excavate descendant.(2) Simple super-cooling point detector was selfmade to detemine the minimum super-cooling point and humor freezing point of female Osmia excavata are-24.19℃and-19.07℃when the minimum super-cooling point and humor freezing point of male Osmia excavata are-23.45℃and-18.71℃.The average lowest temperature of the east Changbai Moutain during these ten years is-29.4℃,which dedicated Osmia excavata could not survive safely the winter here.(3) Osmia excavata began to fly in a low temperature(11-12℃) and had long working hours a day(12.5 h).The mount of visiting flowers was high(5366) and seed number per fruit pollinated by Excavate was more than artificial pollination(1.07). Excavate could pollinated and supplementary pollinate for Pingguoli in Yanbian instead of cornifrons.
