This experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of Chinese herbs feed additive"wumeisanxiansan"on growth performance, ability of anti-disease, meat quality of broilers, and also studied the possibility of mechanism with"wumeisanxiansan"in broiler's feed.The purpose of this study was to test the growth performance and immunefunction of broilers by feeding a corn-soybean diet supplied with complex Chinesematerial media wumeisanxiansan. The experiment had a completely randomized design with a 10x1 factorial arrangement of treatments (ten treatments with five replications per treatment and ten chicks per replications). The broilers were reared in cages. Feed and water were supplied ad libitum.The broilers were fed a basal corn-soybean diet. The dietary groups A were: water+0.5% wumei(low-dose group);water+0.75%wumei(medium dosage group)and water+1%wumei (high-dose group) with according to the clinic secure dose; The dietary groups B were: basal diet+0.5%sanxian(low-dose group);basal diet+l%sanxia-n(medium dosage group)and basal diet+2% sanxian(high-dose group) with accordin-g to the clinic secure dose; The dietary groups C were: 0.5+0.5%wumeisanxian(lo-w-dose group);0.75+l%wumeisanxian(medium dosagegroup)and 1+2% wumeisanxian(high-dose group) with according to the clinic secure dose; The dietary groups D were basal diet (control group); Chinese herbs were fed1-42day-old respectively. Experimental period was 6 weeks since 1 day-old. The growth performance, quality of naked body, immune organ index,the concentration of immunoglobulin in pe-ripheral blood, lymphocyte transformation efficiency, ND antibody titer, percentage of the erythrocyte complement receptor rosette, percentage of erythrocyte immune compound rosette, spleen lymphocyte cycle were determined. The results were indieated that:1. The results of feeding experiment showed that ADG during 0-6 week in the group adding 1% "sanxiansan"were improved 17.5%, and feeding ex-periment showed that F/W ratio during 0-6 week in the group adding0.75+1% "w-umeisanxiansan"were improved 8.8%, compared with that in the control group(P<0.05%).2. The result of slaughtering suggested that no difference in the HPTP of broilers in groups. the WPTP of broilers in"wumeisanxian"(medium dosage group) was signficantly higher than that in control group(P<0.01). The breast muscle rate and leg muscle rate in"sanxian"(medium dosage group) and"wumeisanxian"(medium dosage group) were significantly higher than that in control group (P<0.01), There is no difference in average fat rate among groups.3. Meat quality examination suggested that there were no signficant difference among PH values ,meat col- or ,meat protein content in all groups ( P>0.05).Muscle fat content and muscle tenderness in"wumeisanxian"(medium dosage group)significantly higher than that in other groups ( P<0.05),while muscle moisture sign ficantly lower than that in other groups ( P<0.05).4. The results of anti-infection showed that the broilers add with herb groups had lower mortality rate than control group. The"wumeisa-nxian"(medium dosage group) showed the effect in survival rate achieve 100% wi-th broiler chickens.In a word, 0.2%"wumeisanxian"(medium dosage group) supplementation can improve the growth performance, carcass quality and anti-disease ability of broilers,exerting the function of replacing antibiotic.
