Jordan belongs to the Fertile Crescent area (one of the human farming cradle) and one of the origin of barley et.al.The research of barley germplasm from this area has practical and theory values for enriching our national barley resource and can offer materials for barley breeding ,meanwhile it is important in the barley origin ,evolution and biological diversity studies. In this article the wild and landrace barley from Jordan were subjected to analysis. In chapter two we studied the correlation between morphologicla and yield traits in fourty wild barley accessions and the different contribution index to yield ; To further clear the molecular character of materials ,in chapter three we used A-PAGE method to analyse hordein genetic diversity and compared the differences between the wild and landrace materials. The main results expressed as follows:1. Four populations from different areas of Jordan were included and the datas of eleven morphological and yield traits were subjected to analysis. There were mighty significant differences in the traits of plant height, peduncle extrusion, flag length, spike length, awn length and number of grains within and among populations indicating abundant genetic diversity.Accession Madaba-42 and Karak2-22 had the highest yield per plant which were 17.640g and 15.687g respectively, and the largest 100 grains weight of 5.093g and 4.620g ,meanwhile Madaba-42 had the longest spike and flag leaf length. The correlation analysis showed that there were mighty positive correlations among spike length ,spikelets number and number of grains; awn length and spike length had positive correlation. The peduncle length had a positive ralationships with plant height and spikes number, meanwhile had a negtive ralationships with spike length , spikelets number and number of grains. The path analysis showed that the contribution index order of three yield relative traits to the yiled was: spikes number>100-grain weight>number of grains. The spikes number and 100-grain weight were the most important influence factors to the plant yield. Finally stepwise regression equation for the plant yield was put forward .In the equation plant height, peduncle length ,flag leaf length ,awn length, spikes number and 100-grain weight had the significant effect on plant yield;the partial regression coefficient of the 100-grain weight to the plant yield is the biggest one which is up to 3.732. 2. Using A-PAGE method, total 100 barley materials were isolated 28 different hordein mobility bands. B district had the maximum Shannon information index and greatest genetic polymorphism.C district had the highest allele frequency. The frequency on the 17 hordein bands of D-1, C-4,B-1 et al between populatins had the significant and mighty significant difference. For tolal germplasm ,the genetic similarity coefficient is 0.925,genetic distance is 0.078. The coefficient of genetic defferentiation between populations is 0.089;the value of gene flow is 5.089,indicating that the hordein genes translate fully and the level of gene defferentiation is low. Finally the clustering using UPGMA method showed that hordein protein of the wild barley had a certein correlation with the eco-geographical environment .The landrace barley from different areas could not distinguish clearly but interspersed between the wild barley accesions. To some extent the article revealed genetic relationships between the wild and landrace barley .The landrace barley domesticated from wild barley, whereas the evolution speed was inconsistent .
