The favorable microclimate condition created by agro-fruit ecosystem provides a good growth environment and condition for a high and stable yield of the intercropping wheat. The agro-fruit ecosystem develops fast around Tarim Basin these years,which has a big planting area.Wheat-apricot intercropping system is an important pattern of agro-fruit ecosystem.It is of theoretical and practical significance for evaluating and selecting wheat-apricot intercropping patterns,selecting the wheat varieties suitable for the wheat-apricot intercropping system, increasing the wheat field potentiality to the largest extent,in the South Xinjiang irrigation district wheat-apricot intercropping system,to study the characteristic of wheat-apricot intercropping system around Tarim Basin.This experiment used Xindong 22, Xindong 17, Xindong 18, Shidong 8,which were the main planting wheat varieties around Tarim Basin,and Baomai 9 ,which was introduced from Hebei province ,as the experiment materials . Luntai county was the test base,which had the typical characteristics of around Tarim Basin area irrigation district agricultural characteristics .This experiment was carried out in the condition of wheat-apricot intercropping system,in which apricot trees was 5 to 8 years ,from 2007 to 2007 .In this study,the planting characteristics,grain-filling characteristics , field components characteristics and laws in the condition of one and different wheat-apricot intercropping patterns around Tarim Basin were studied. Then,in order to choose the best suitable wheat variety to coordinate with the wheat-apricot intercropping system, through relational analysis of grey system , nine important properities of five varieties were evaluated.The main result of this study was as follows.The different wheat-apricot intercropping patterns impacting the intercropping wheat field with difference.The wheat-apricot intercropping patterns with broad width such as 6×3 intercropping pattern and 6×4 intercropping pattern impacted the wheat field far less than the wheat-apricot intercropping pattern with narrow width such as 4×1.5 intercropping pattern. The tendency of the different intercropping patterns with the same row spacing,the different plant spacing such as 6×3 intercropping pattern and 6×4 intercropping pattern impacting the wheat field different distance apart from the apricot trees was uniform,however,the intercropping pattern with smaller plant spacing impacted the wheat field bigger the same distance apart from the apricot trees.With respect to the wheat field components ,the different wheat-apricot intercropping patterns impacted the 1000-grain weight and the fertile ears per hectare bigger ,the grains per ear smaller.The tendency of the different intercropping patterns impacting the intercropping wheat plant height with difference,the main law was that, in the Near-end apart from the apricot trees, the closer apart from the apricot trees,the smaller the wheat plant height under the three interplanting patterns ; While,in the Far-end apart from the apricot trees, the wheat plant height changed little under the three interplanting patterns.The different intercropping patterns impacted the wheat plant height bigger in the eastern part of the intercropping wheat region than in the western part.The presentation of interplanting wheat plant height change was skew distribution .The wheat-apricot intercropping patterns with broad width such as 6×3 intercropping pattern and 6×4 intercropping pattern impacted the wheat plant height bigger than the wheat-apricot intercropping pattern with narrow width such as 4×1.5 intercropping pattern.Under 6×4 wheat-apricot intercropping pattern, the effects of the intercropping apricot trees impacting the wheat field and its components from big to small following as: filed, 1000-grain weight, fertile ears per hectare, and the grains per ear. The tendency of the intercropping apricot trees impacting the wheat agronomic traits and field characteristics was that, the closer the intercropping wheat apart from the intercropping apricot trees, the smaller the wheat field, the 1000-grain weight and plant height.Moreever, the wheat field, the 1000-grain weight and plant height were impacted bigger in the eastern part of the intercropping wheat region than in the western part. The presentation of main interplanting wheat agronomic traits change was skew distribution .In thecanopy region of the intercropping apricot trees,the wheat fertile ears per hectare was impacted bigger,and ,the closer to the intercropping apricot trees, the fewer the wheat fertile ears per hectare. However, the intercropping apricot trees impacted the wheat fertile ears per hectare near crown area and far from crown area of the intercropping apricot trees little.For the wheat field, fertile ears per hectare, the grains per ear and 1000-grain weight, genotypic effects were greater than wheat-apricot intercropping effects and genotype-by-wheat-apricot intercropping interactions effects.The filed traits impacted greatest by genotypic influence was the grains per ear,and the filed traits impacted greatest by wheat-apricot intercropping influence was the 1000-grain weight.For the wheat quality traits, the intercropping apricot trees impacted content of intercropping wheat protein less,but impacted sedimentation value greatest ,and the effects the intercropping apricot trees to grain hardness and bulk density was between that to content of protein and sedimentation value. The tendency of the intercropping apricot trees impacting the wheat quality traits was that,the closer the intercropping wheat apart from the intercropping apricot trees ,the worse the wheat quality traits,and the intercropping apricot trees impacted the eastern part of the intercropping wheat region greater than the western part. The intercropping wheat was impacted by genotypic effects, wheat-apricot intercropping effects and genotype-by-wheat-apricot intercropping interactions effects. The quality traits impacted greatest by genotypic influence was content of protein, and wheat-apricot intercropping interactions effects impacted the bulk density greatest.The grain-filling parameters impacting the wheat-apricot intercropping grain weight was the average filling rate.Among the wheat varieties for experiment ,the grain filling characteristic of Baomai 9 was the best, Xindong 22 followed with it,the grain filling characteristics of Xindong 18,Xindong 17 and Shidong 8 were worse. The closer the intercropping wheat apart from the intercropping apricot trees ,the greater the intercropping apricot trees impacted the intercropping wheat grain-filling,and the intercropping apricot trees impacted the grain-filling in the eastern part of the intercropping wheat region greater than the same distance apart from the western part.Through relational analysis of grey system, nine important properities of five wheat varieties were evaluated. The results showed that, the wheat variety having the best comphrehensive characteristics among the wheat varieties for experiment was Baomai 9, following with Shidong 8, Xindong 22 and Xindong 18, Xindong 17 had the worst comphrehensive characteristics among the wheat varieties for experiment .so Baomai 9 was the best choice to coordinate with the wheat -apricot intercropping system.On the basis of the study of the wheat-apricot intercropping characteristics around Tarim Basin, the planting technique for wheat-apricot intercropping system around Tarim Basin could be proposed as that, the intercropping pattern was 6×4 pattern,and the wheat variety to coordinate with it was Baomai 9.
