6 muskmelon parent(sM1~M6) and 15 hybrids were studied on the general combining abilities (GCA), the specific combining abilities(SCA) and genetic analysis of 12 fruit quality characteristics. Based on the the analysis we can evaluate the fine and excellent parents, screen the excellent hybrids, we can find out the strongest hybrds in flavor, nutritional quality, yield and so on. This experiment was mean to provide a basis and reference for melon breeding in good quality and high yield from the parents and hybrids. In order to breed high-yielding and excellent varieties we could use existing resources and potential inter-species hybrid heterosis fully.Through the analysis of GCA and SCA of 12 characteristics(Weight permelon, Vertical longth of fruit, Equatorial diameter of fruit, Pulp thickness, Species of cavity diameter, Center soluble suger content, Inwall soluble suger content, Content of soluble sugar, Content of organic acid, Soluble protein content, Content of proline, Content of vitamin C)in the 6 parents and 15 hybrids, we known that equatorial diameter of fruit, inwall soluble suger, content Soluble protein content this three characteristics does not exist the real genetic differences between these genotypes. Parents M4 and M5 have a good show in the majority of quality characteristics.They can be hybrided with other parents to select good quality hybrids; Hybrids of M5×M6, M2×M6 have shown a larger advantages in the performance of quality and yield. M4×M6, M1×M2 have shown a larger advantages in terms of quality. M4×M5,M2×M4have a larger performance advantage in production.The test of genetic analysis showed that the hB2 of weight permelon, verticallongth of fruit, center soluble suger content, content of soluble sugar and content of organic acid were above 65.00%. So these characteristics have a smaller environmental effect and should be selected in the earlyer generation. The remaining six characteristics of hB2 was ranged from 40.33% to 65.00%.These characteristics have a larger environmental effect and should not select in the early generation. The hN2 of all the nine characteristics was lower. The additive variance of proline was larger than the dominant variance. That showed this characteristics was mainly affected by the additive effect . The hB2 and hN2 of pulp thickness and content of vitamin C was lower than other characteristics. So these characteristics should be chosen in the late generation. We should pay great attention to the characteristics (Weight permelon, Center soluble suger content, Content of soluble sugar, Content of organic acid, Vertical longth of fruit, Content of proline, Content of vitamin C) which were controlled by additive gene effects in the earlyer generation(Vitamin C); Meanwhile, we should pay great attention to the characteristics (pulp thickness) which were controlled by nonadditive gene effects.Through the ananlysis of grey correlative between soluble sugar content and other characteristics we try to find out the correlation of soluble sugar content and other characteristics.Then provide scientific reference for the selective and breeding fine new varieties. The results showed: Inwall soluble suger content > Center soluble suger content > Equatorial diameter of fruit > Pulp thickness > Vertical longth of fruit > Species of cavity diameter > Content of proline > Weight permelon > Content of vitamin C > Soluble protein content > Content of organic acid. It find that inwall soluble suger content, center soluble suger content, equatorial diameter of fruit, pulp thickness, vertical longth of fruit have larger correlation with soluble sugar content. The characteristics which has the most important impact are center soluble suger content and inwall soluble suger content. Therefore these two factors should be the main factors integrated other characters during the melon election and formulation cultural technique measure at the same time for the best option to achieve the purpose of high-quality and high-yield.At present, the quality of most varieties of melon are only from one or two indicators to evaluate the merits and demerits of a species basis. This test is mean to find a good hybrid combinations through the choice of inbred lines, hybrid combination and genetic analysis to determine genetic characteristics and overall performance. through Gray relational grade to find out the quality of forming a leading role in the 12 factors. So to make it easier for breeders to master this method, thus improving the quality of breeding.
