In allusion to the situation that there was sufficient Caragana resources in no grazing and rest-grazing areas, but low utilization ratio. Searching an approach that could reduce the fiber content, improve palatability, enhance the feeding value, became the focus of Caragana feed research.This paper applied puffing technology to develop Caragana resources, which could reduce lignine and fibrin effectively. Through sensory evaluation, nutrition analysis and external digestion experimental test, we researched the expanded technology and nutritional value evaluation of Caragana feed, the results showed that:①The order of Caragana nutritional value in different interval being stumped was treatment of stumping once per year >treatment of stumping once two years > no stumping; In different part of Caragana, nutritional value of leaves was much higher than whole plant and branches, because lignin and fibrin content of whole plant and branches were higher, lead to low digestion rate,it was difficult to digest and absorb for livestock.②The key technological conditions of Caragana puffing technology were 1.0MPa pressure, 170℃, temperature 30% Water content of raw materials, cutting into 2 cm.③Add sodium bicarbonate could play a good effect to puffing Caragana. The suitable sodium bicarbonate addition was 1.5%, under this threatment could significantly change the physical and chemical properties and nutrition of raw materials Caragana, increase content of soluble components and digestible absorption ingredients.④Consideration the change of nutrient content before and after puffing, external digestion properties and productive cost, the appropriate utilization manner of Caragana in different interval stump for puffing were that the suitable diameter of treatment no stump and stumping once two years were under 1.0cm, Caragana stumping once per year, after being puffed, the digestive ratio increase from 27.12% to 41.12%. Increased by 1 times, So Caragana could be used as high coarse fodder for ruminate livestock.
