Soil is an independent natural body, which can be analyzed and interpreted from the perspectives of substance composition, structure and functions. In the mean time, soil is also a combinative entirety of organic and inorganic substance, living things and non-living things. Soil fertility determines the soil to be able to provide the material base, which is a very important role in the daily life. Soil fertility is then determined by its chemicophysical properties. Different soil chemicophysical properties thus determine the types and quantities of vegetation. Different altitudes can determine the Spatial Differentiation of soil chemicophysical properties in one way or another.Changbai Mountain erupted about 800 to 1000 years ago. A great deal of eruptive material and clastics have ruined the primitive soil of Changbai Mountain. Ernran's birch forest, nowadays has become the dominant species on the height between 1700 and 2100 meters of the Changbai Mountain. No similar phenomenon has ever appeared in the regions of similar latitude and altitude. Hence this can prove that the ernran's birch forest is the pioneer species of soil restoration of Changbai Mountain. The spatial variability of soil chemicophysical properties is quite conspicuous in the areas of this range of height, which provides a further evidence of the soil restoration of Changbai Mountain. The present study focuses on the ernran's birch forest of Changbai Mountain as subject. By using the methods of long-term resource collection, field sampling survey and laboratory measurement analysis, we have measured all the following data including all effect nutrient, available nutrient, moisture, unit weight, organic matter and its hydrocarbon ratio and mechanical composition. Then the data have been analyzed by the means of traditional statistics, geostatistics and other modern computational methods such as EXCEL and SPSS, with the purpose of revealing the law of the spatial variety of the ernran's birch forest as well as the relationship between it and the altitude. And then this study aims to explain the reason of special heterogeneity and find the evidence of soil restoration. The research findings are in the following. First, the spatial heterogeneity of the alpestrine marshy grassland forest of Changbai Mountain is quite conspicuous. With the altitude increasing, the content of soil moisture, organic matter, total-N, available N, available P, available K has a tendency of decreasing, while soil bulk density and the content of total K is increasing rapidly. However, the PH value, total P and carbon nitrogen ratio of the organic matter do not have any obvious relationship with the altitude. Secondly, the differences between the physicochemical properties of sample field Slope A and Slope B are quite obvious. Slope A is mainly influenced by soil moisture, unit weight, total K, available N, available P and available K, i.e. those indicators are the dominating factors of the physicochemical property spatial heterogeneity of Slope A. Slope B is mainly influenced by soil moisture, unit weight, organic matter, total N, total K, available N, available P, available K, in other words, these indicators are the dominant factors of the physicochemical property special heterogeneity of Slope B.
