Alien addition lines are importent materials for gene assignment and crop genetic improvement. In order to generate the monosomic alien addition line of C-genome added a chromosome derived from A-genome, the triploid interspecies hybrid (CCA) and its parent Chinese kale (Brassica alboglabra Bailey) and Flowering Chinese cabbage (Brassica campestris L.,var. utilis Tsen et Lee) were used as basic materials, and by means of artificial hybridization, morphological and cytological identification and POD isoenzyme analysis, the Chinese kale-Flowering Chinese cabbage monosomic alien addition lines were generated, and main results were showed as follows:1. The seed set of interspecific tripoid(CCA) backcrossing with Chinese kale (CC) was about 0.28%; and percentage of the plants with an additional chromosome in the progeny was about 0.64%. Therefore, it is very difficulty to select the monosomic alien addition lines from the progeny of CCA×CC.2. The average seed set of aneuploid plants with 2 to 5 additional chromosomes re-backcrossing with Chinese kale (CC) was about 1.92%, which was about 6.9 times as that of the former (0.28%); and 125 2n+1 plants were screened out from the 509 backcrossing progeny individuals, that is, the average percentage of the plants with an additional chromosome was 24.56%, which was 38.4 times of the former(0.64%). Therefore, it is an effective way for generation of CC+A monosomic alien addition lines by re- backcrossing the aneuploid with the parent Chinese kale.3. Total 126 plants with an additional chromosome(2n+1) were identified from the backcross progeny; and based on the morphlogical markers, 12 different groups were classified among the 126 2n+1 plants transplanted to the green house; and 8 different alien addition lines (CC+A1, CC+A2, CC+A3, CC+A6, CC+A7, CC+A8, CC+A9, CC+A10) were preliminary obtained from these groups by karyotype analysis, meiotic examination and POD isoenzyme analysis.4. Special morphological genetic markers, such as bolting date, flower colour, flower type, leaf colour, leaf type, pod colour, pod type, and POD isoenzyme special genetic maker Rf 0.102, Rf 0.133 and Rf0.173 were obtained from the monosomic alien addition lines. 5. Meiotic observation for the addition lines showed A-2, A-3, A-6 and A-9 chromosomes from flowering Chinese cabbage having partial homology with some chromosomes of C genome from chinese kale.6. The alien chromosome of the monosomic addition line CC+A9 could be transmitted by male and female gametes with a percentage of 9.82% and 18.75%, respectively.
