As a large agricultural country of China, the circumstances of the high power tractor or the hanging planter width unit increase gradually according to the popularity of the high-power tractor little by little in eastern China. The increasing tendency in the width of the hanging planter and the speed of operating is to further enhance the efficiency of the operations, what's more, the development of the hanging planter is to head for wide, high-speed, precision seeding and so on. As a result, the planting becomes the most important part in a modern agricultural production.The important component of modern precision planter is the planter monitor system, which directly affects the quality of precision seeding. And it has been found that the current sensor adapted to field test conditions can not meet the test requirements after investigation. Based on this understanding and combining the research needs of the monitoring technology in the agricultural equipment test, this thesis executed the thorough research and analysis that was mainly on the seed quality testing sensors and the designed monitoring system of the precision planter. While that accomplished the following major tasks with the MSP430 MCU core:1. The design of the Seeding Monitoring System:This system adopts the technology of the optical sensor to monitor the planting situations which mainly inspect the sowing rate of the seeds, the playback rate, and the metering amount of seed rate, the seed spacing, the area measurement planting and other performance parameters.2. The design of Sound and light alarm system:Voice and alarm systems share a common alarm considering the issue of the installation and simplified circuit. LED warning uses the indicator light to indicate the fault type and location. Installing a light in every line, the indicator is often in the off state at normal sowing time; but when the planter seeding tube or clogging is blocking or the seed box is lack of seeds, the corresponding indicator will be always state and failure properties displayed. It would give sound and lighting instructions in failure time.3. The design of Display system:This design uses a liquid displaying crystal to display the detection data and fault that would make us acquire information more intuitively and comprehensively.4. The design of Wireless transmission system:To better grasp the planting conditions, a wireless transmission system is designed with the host computer communication, which makes the monitoring system be more intuitive and effective.5. The design of stepper motor control system. To ensure the uniformity of drilling and sowing, we select a stepping motor to control the seeding rate.The results show that the whole system keeps stable state and the test data is so accurate and reliable that could be able to meet the design requirements.
