Research of agricultural equipment on virtual reality is extremely significant. Virtual reality technology is based on virtual reality model, but at present the existing virtual reality systems can not directly establish a typical model of agricultural equipment.In this paper, based on the problem to directly establishe the interface from UG model to virtual reality model of Creator. During the process of transformation the model accuracy can be effectively controlled by related tolerance parameters and the model can be refined or simplified according to the actual need of the research. The method can solve the problem of data lost and poor stability during the process of the model transformation. The main research contents are as follows:(1) There are several common ways for three-dimensional model transformation from CAD to VR virtual reality model:Using third party software, using intermediate files combined with the secondary development of Creator. This paper introduced the principle of transformation and conversion of their results and feasibility for a variety of ways were compared and analyzed. Based on the comparing and analysising the transformation methods this paper proposed pre-conversion methods and their advantages and disadvantages which are why they can not meet the subject needs.(2) Researched the features and the necessary environment of the secondary development tool of UG-UG/OPEN API. Studied the UG part in the transformation model method of combining the UG and Creaotor secondary development. Mainly studied travel and read the UG model and polygon mesh of UG model, and so on. Reading the data of UG model is the basis of rebuilding the virtual reality model of Creator.(3) Researched the features and the necessary environment of the secondary development tool of UG-UG/OPEN API. Studied the UG part in the transformation model method of combining the UG and Creaotor secondary development. Finally through using transformation model method of combining the UG and Creaotor secondary development we successfully transformed the UG model to Creator model and during the transformation process we can effectively control the model accuracy by changing the tolerance parameters.(4) Researched the virtual reality platform and gave a detail introduction of the demonstration experiment simulation on the virtual reality platform. Through a variety of tests the transformed virtual reality model in this papaer satisfied the requirements of the subject.In this paper we successfully explored the interface technology of transforming the UG model to Creator model through combining the UG and Creaotor secondary development and the model accuracy can be controlled by tolerance parameters. The transformed model basically meets the requirement of the subject.
