Four different seedling substrates were used in cultivating seven different provenances of Xanthoceras sorbifolia Bunge in nutritive cups at Shendong coal mining subsidence Area, and then transplant the nutrient cup seedlings.1. Analyzing the effects of different complex substrates on the seedling growth, by measuring the survival rate, plant height, ground diameter, physiological index of 7 different provenances of Xanthoceras sorbifolia Bunge, based on comprehensive consideration of nutrient, pH, main ions, and total salt content of substrate. The results were as follows:(1) The seedling average emergence rate of Xanthoceras sorbifolia Bunge which grown in the substrate 3(sheep manure: soil = 1:1) was significantly higher than other substrates, the plant height and ground diameter of cultivated seedling at substrate 1(cattle dung: soil = 1:1) was significantly higher than others, but at substrate 3(sheep manure: soil = 1:1) was at a lower level.(2) The seedling average emergence rate of NO.4 and NO.2 provenance was significantly higher than other provenances; the plant height and ground diameter of NO.2 provenance was better than others.(3) There was no significant difference between 4 different substrates on soil organic matter and pH, and there were fairly significant difference of available N, P, and K. The content of available P was significantly related to plant height and ground diameter, there was no significant correlation between the content available N, K, plant height, ground diameter.(4) There were significant difference of Ca2+, Mg2+, Na+, K+, SO42-, Cl-, HCO3- and total salt content between different substrates. The Ca2+, Mg2+, SO42- and total salt content was significantly related to plant height and ground diameter. There was no significant correlation between Na+, K+, Cl-, HCO3- and plant height, ground diameter.(5) The Ca2+, SO42-, total salt content were significantly negative correlation with content of soluble sugars, the content of MDA was significantly correlation with available K, significantly negative correlation with Ca2+, total salt content; the content of free proline is more relative to available N.2. According to measure the survival rate, plant height and ground diameter of transplanted seedlings of Xanthoceras sorbifolia Bunge., analyze the effects of the concentration of ABT rooting powder , type of soil, irrigation frequency, the content of sheep manure and the depth of plastic film mulching on the seedling survival rate and growth. The result shows that the optimal condition for transplanting of Xanthoceras sorbifolia Bunge. in Shendong mining area was the concentration of ABT rooting powder at 1200mg/kg; the farm soil of abandoned cultivation; irrigated every 10 days; the content of sheep manure(40%); film on the surface of soil.
