Slice of leaf epidermis, paraffin methods, xylotomy, dispersing of vessel elements andmicrophotography techniques were used to study on anatomical structure of leaves, caulicle and secondary xylem of Ligustrum obtusifolium Sieb. et Zucc. lived in shade andsun environment. The relationship between anatomic structure characteristics and growingenvironment was discussed and the plant adaptability to different habitat was compared. The results showed that there were differences in the structure of leaves, caulicle andsecondary xylem of L. obtusifolium Sieb. et Zucc. lived in shade and sun environment.Plant lived in sun environment had thicker leaves, epidermal hair, close-up stoma, developed cuticle, high ratio of palisade tissue to spongy tissue and well-developed mainvein vascular bundle than the shade ones. Leaves of plant lived in shade environment hadslick epidermis, no epidermal hair, developed spongy tissue, degenerative palisade tissueand vascularbundles. These characteristics could be uesd as the features of anatomicshade-tolerant plants. Stem structure of L. obtusifolium Sieb. et Zucc. lived in sun andshade environment were compared. The results showed that L. obtusifolium Sieb. et Zucc.lived in sun environment had thicker cuticle, more developed conducting tissue, tightlyarranged vascular bundles and more large-diameter tube. These structures contributed totransport water. There were more well-developed aerenchyma in the cortex of the oneslived in sun environment. And the density of ray in L. obtusifolium Sieb. et Zucc. lived insun environment were greater than the shade ones, which indicated that the ones hadstronger ability of transporting the photosynthesis products. The results of vessel elementsdispersing experiment showed that L. obtusifolium Sieb. et Zucc. lived in sun environment, compared to the ones lived in shade environment, had longer caliber of vessel. In summary, the morphosis of plant organs was closely adapted to the environmentthey growing. The plants growing in different environment had their own structurecharacteristics in order to adapting the environment, which suggested that plants had acertain structure adaptability. The experiment also presented the evolution characteristicsand regularity of L. obtusifolium Sieb. et Zucc. growing in different ecologicalenvironment.
