The purpose of this experiment was to study the feasibility of the energy feeds in the growth blue fox with potato for corn and the optimal proportion of substitution of potato for corn. According to the principle of same cage, sex, and close weight (P<0.05),150 blue foxes of 8 weeks old were randomly assigned to 5 experimental groups (30 blue foxes per group). Each group fed the diets containing without potato (â… group),25%(â…¡group),50%(â…¢group),75%(â…£group) and 100%(â…¤group) substitution of potato for corn (â… group was a control group, andâ…¡,â…¢,â…£,â…¤groups were experimental groups). The preliminary experiment lasted for 3 days. Reach conclusions by feeding experiment, digestion experiment, and the analyzation of body length and fur length. The results were as follows:1. Growth. The growth of blue foxes were not significantly influenced by partial substitution of potato for corn (P>0.05). The weight gain of blue foxes were significantly decreased (P<0.05) by the diet of total substitution of potato for corn. In the whole trail period, the weight of III group was the best.2. Average daily feed intake. The average daily feed intake of blue foxes were not influenced by the diet of partial or total substitution of potato for corn.3. Feed conversion rate. In growing, the feed conversion rate ofâ…¢group is the lowest, the feed utilization rate was the highest; In furring, the feed conversion rate of blue foxes were not significantly influenced by the diet of partial or total substitution of potato for corn (P>0.05).4. Weight gain cost. In growing, the diet of partial or total substitution of potato for corn can reduce the weight gain cost of blue foxes effectively; In furring, the weight gain cost of blue foxes were not significantly influenced by the diet of partial substitution of potato for corn (P>0.05), and the diet of total substitution of potato for corn can increase significantly weight gain cost of blue foxes (P<0.05).5. Apparent digestibility. DM(dry matte), in the whole trail period, the DM apparent digestibility of blue foxes were not significantly influenced by partial or total substitution of potato for corn (P>0.05);Protein, in the whole trail period, the protein apparent digestibility of blue foxes were not significantly influenced by partial substitution of potato for corn (P>0.05), the protein apparent digestibility ofâ…¤group was lower thanâ… ,â…¡,â…¢,â…£groups (P<0.05);Fat, in growing, the fat apparent digestibility ofâ…¡group was lower thanâ… ,â…¢,â…£,â…¤groups (P<0.05),in furring, the fat apparent digestibility ofâ… group was lower thanâ…¡,â…¢,â…£,â…¤groups (P<0.05);Crude ash, in the whole trail period, the crude ash apparent digestibility of blue foxes were reduced when substitution of potato for corn increased; Crude fiber, in growing, the crude fiber apparent digestibility of blue foxes were increased when substitution of potato for corn increased, in furring, the crude fiber apparent digestibility of blue foxes were increased when substitution of potato for corn reduced.6. Body length. The body length of blue foxes were extremely significantly influenced by partial or total substitution of potato for corn (P<0.01).7. Fur length. The fur length of blue foxes were extremely significantly influenced by partial or total substitution of potato for corn (P<0.01),the fur length ofâ…¢andâ…£were respectively longer 2.56% and 1.85% than that of the control.Integrated the data of the present study that the feeds in growth blue fox by partial substitution of potato for corn was feasible, and the optimal proportion of substitution of potato for corn was 50%.
