Red rice is one of the special resources of health food, which is planted and edible long in time in China. Some studies showed that the red rice pigment is rich in Se, Zn, Fe, Ca, Mn, Mg, Ge and other useful elements, as well as a large number of specialty mineral nutrients. Studies suggest that the mineral contents of the red rice are higher than those of the common rice and its pigment concentrated in the seed coat and pericarp. The effects contact with the pigment, and there were certain relation existed between the red pigment and the contents of microelement. There are 2/3 of the populations depending on rice-based food in China, especially with the modern socio-economic development and people's living standards and further enhance and changing diet, people no longer be complacent with consumer demand for rice to solve adequate food and clothing, rice has been towards the pursuit of nutrition, health and therapeutic efficacy. Therefore, by mineral nutrients of rice research, developed the special rice is rich in trace elements beneficial to improving the human diet conditions, and improve people's quality of life has great significance. In this paper, the study aim to research the contents of Ge, Se,Zn in different rice varieties which are bred by our team, as well as their variation trend and correlation. The white rice shuhui527 and 621A crossed with three selenium-rich varieties of red rice R319, R329 and ruby, respectively. We determined the 50 samples' content of selenium in the red and white brown rice, respectively, which were from the F2 of the combinations. The main results of the studies are as follows:1.The 18 rice varieties(including 12 red rice varieties and 6 white varieties) which were planted under various environmental circumstances(i.e.seasons and sites), were employed to study the contents of Se, Ge and Zn in brown rice. The mean contents of three elements in brown rice were Zn> Se> Ge, with the data of Ge 0.0086 mg/kg, Zn 23.6732 mg/kg and Se 0.0352 mg/kg. The content of selenium in red rice varieties was significantly higher than it in white rice varieties, which was stably inherited under different environmental circumstances. There was significant negative correlation between the contents of Se and Ge in the brown rice. 2. The white rice shuhui527 and 621A crossed with three selenium-rich varieties of red rice R319, R329 and ruby, respectively. All grains of reciprocal cross F1 population derived from red rice and the white rice were all red rice, and the segregation ratio of the F2 population was fitted to 3:1, showing that the red pigment trait was controlled by a dominant gene.3. We determined the 50 samples' content of selenium in the red and white brown rice, respectively, which were from the F2 of the combinations. The results showed that the selenium-content of red brown rice was significantly greater than the average of white brown ones. To the brown rice of the red rice varieties(ruby), we determined the content of selenium according to their different colored shades, respectively, and found it increased as the same as the degree of the color increased. The results indicated that there were certain relation existed between the red pigment and the contents of microelement selenium. The red rice in the ability of selenium accumulation was stronger than the white ones.
